Hi!, I am Emma Rotondo, electric, acoustic and nylon guitar player, musical director, producer and session musician from Argentina.
I love the studio work, with diverse artists and musical genres, finding everything your music needs.
I can work without any problem with a bunch of musical styles, as R&B, pop, rock, hip hop, ballads, reggaeton, trap, acoustic singer-songwriter, fx and soundscapes, jazz, latin, gospel, etc.

All sessions are recorded in my personal studio, in Ableton or Logic Pro, using Universal Audio or Audient Interface.
I work mostly with Kemper (amps & fx), with a long list of posibilities, as DI, Mono, Stereo, Different mics and valve Amps combinations (Vox, Fender, Polytone, etc). Reamp is available too.
Guitars: Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Martin & Co. LA alpujarra, Guitarras Casas.
Mics: shure, rode, PBM, Senheiser.
Fx: Strymon, EHX, Line 6, Kemper, JHS.

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Right now, I am working with Argentinian artists, mostly r&b, pop and reggaeton artists. playin live shows, MD and recording. Also sometimes i play live shows with artists of argentinian music, folk, or jazz gigs.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: both, depends the music and the situation. I want to think I have the knowledge for manage both, because I am researching and earing all the time. But I need to say the digital world gives you a LOT of options. and really quick if you know how can work with. So this is my first election, lately, I guess.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: Always give my best.

  8. A: Diversity of music and people

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: Always is more easier and quick if they knows what they want (more or less) or can give examples about that.

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: Is my dream job, luckily, since for ever. I start to play professionally at 16 yo, i guess...later, the things gets more and more serious. then I started to study for real. and im on my 36 and learning all the time.

  13. Q: How would you describe your style?

  14. A: Eclectic. chill jazzy, soul/ funky. I love fx, glitches, drone sounds and textures (when is necessary) too.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Ask the artist plays the song only with guitar and vocals. a naked version... is the best way to hear the details, the lirycs, feeling, chord progression, dinamics, etc. next, we can choose the best ideas for work with.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: Mostly R&B, pop, rock, reggaeton, singer/ songwriter, but sometimes i need to to some textures for visual projects, or short films, movies, theater,

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: Open mind, criteria and experiencie, I think. The song ALWAYS tell us what she need and what we need to do. I try look further than everything, always, finding the best way to catch the details for have a unique song.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: I receive the song and usually have a chat with the client (band, artist, producer) about what are the looking for in general and what they want with the guitar parts in particular. after that, i record that things first and when they let me participate, I record my vision/ contribution too. sometimes they want some things and nothing else. in that case i do my job and thats all. I know manage both situations, always thinking in the music first over my personal interests.

  23. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  24. A: I have a really nice gear options for get the tones I need. I use a lot of Kemper, wich give me a lot of rec optiones simultaneously. Also reamp and DI...But I have A lot of tube vintage amps too, like Vox, Fender, Acoustic, an old Polytone. For digital interfaces, I use and I love UAD stuff. It's really easy for work. I use Audient sometimes too. works great. I love strat/tele style guitars. vintage and modern, also I have a couple of lovely gibsons: 335 and sg. Finally, a couple of Nylon guitars and a really beautiful Martin 000 15 M acosutic. In case i need, I have a couple of really nice mics too, like a copy of U87, two pencils for stereo, dinamic mics, etc. (Shure, Rode, etc)

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: A lot of musicians and producers... i love music, no matter the style. and a im searching all the time. i love hear complete albums and take notes about "guitar stuff", and produc cion. also, i really love take a look abput the personnel working on everything. i love to see how some really different musicians are working togueter only for the music. i really admire all the jazz stuff like Bill Frisell (my favourite guitar player), Nir Felder, Spanky, Pat Metheny, Paul Motian, Jakob Bro, David Torn, etc...but also love Post Malone, Doja Cat, Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, Jorja Smith, Olivia Dean, David Bowie, Hiatus Kaiyote, Erykah Badu, Karol G, Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Sebastian Yatra, J Dilla, Mac Miller, Feid, Trueno, Nicky Nicole, Duki, Younk Miko...country music, among a really lot of other artists...4 example.

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: As a session guitar player, usually I produce and record guitar tracks for a lot of artists of a different genres. Sometimes I produce the whole track if they need.
