Interview with Chromosome Studio
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'am proud to every project which I did or participate. Because I know I put a lot of time in it to be sounding good.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'am working in a very nice world dub project with a lot of delays and reverbs and world traditional instruments. It's a lot of fun :)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Depend of the situation. But mostly analog because of there natural warmth.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: If you hire me, you will get most professionally work for little budget.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working without pressure and bosses what I really love. MUSIC
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Hahaha, people who don't know me always ask me what will be the cost :) It depend what I will need to do and how I will do this.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Song is shit and bad recorded-produced. After mastering it will be heard like a best mainstream song. Never happened in a history of music. Once again "Do all the best that you can before you send it to mix and mastering"
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be sure that you did all that you can before you send your music to mix and master it.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Computer, Midi Keyboard with controllers, Audio interface, Headphones and bag full of weed seeds :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Music was always my biggest passion. I've been playing drums for more than 10 years. In the meantime I was switched more into key instruments (lot of old modulated synths and machines). It's now more than 20 years creating, producing, recording and all that time also mixing and mastering a lot of well known material.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Alternative music, I don't like mainstream.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to wokr with Tool band because of their complex music arangment.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Generally you will have to mix most of the low frequencies (Bass and Kick) to virtual center.
