I'm an electronic producer with a Master's degree in Studio Composition from Goldsmiths College, UL. I've been releasing electronic music for 8+ years; it's been compared to artists like Four Tet and Caribou, played by DJs like The Blessed Madonna and Jamie XX on stations like BBC Radio 1 and KCRW. I also do detailed sound design to picture.
My Masters' degree in Studio Composition focused on sound design, mixing, and experimental practices, and since I started releasing my own music in 2013 I've been interested in how advanced studio techniques and ideas can improve musical genres from the underground to the mainstream.
I offer sound mixing tailored to your project, with a particular focus on pop and electronic sounds, and I'm also available for club remixes. I have had original productions and remixes placed in major Spotify and Apple Music editorial playlists as well as extensive radio play on stations like KCRW and BBC Radio 1.
I also studied composition for moving image, and have a lot of experience interpreting creative briefs and delivering strong results. I'm passionate about the role of sound in visual storytelling, and I've completed an intensive sound design program with Emmy-award winning studio Radium Audio. (See link in "Website" section for example video)
My studio is in Finsbury Park, North London - if you're in the area I'd be happy to meet and discuss your project in person. If not, drop me a message and let's figure something out remotely.

Excellent sound designer! Hubie created some custom synth presets and drum kits for us, and they all sounded great. Excellent communication and quick turnaround. An ideal pro that we'll definitely be working with again.

Interview with Hubie Davison
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most often I provide additional production to help my clients bring their music to the next level. I'm happy to come in at any stage in the process, from initial ideas to final mix. I can write & perform parts on traditional instruments - guitar, bass, keys, etc., as well as sound design, specialist processing, and all manner of electronic textures.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm in a room in BSMNT studios in Finsbury Park, North London. It's comfortably decorated like a living room full of books and instruments and assorted hardware. I have some drum machines (LinnDrum, Roland CR-78, Vermona DRM-1, Isla S2400), a few synths (Sequential Circuits Prophet 12, Mopho, TD-3), a Yamaha upright piano, a few guitars, amps, a bass guitar, saxophone, and some lovely microphones, including Warm Audio's wonderful recreation of the classic Neumann U-67, the WA-67. I've also got boxes of percussion and various other toys. It's a fantastic place to make music.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm drawn to warmth & groove from 50s Jazz through 60s Psych & Pop, 70s Funk, Soul & Disco, 80s Synth/New/NoWave and Post-Disco, 90s Hip Hop and Detroit House, 00s Electronic/Bass/Techno... If I had to choose one artist from the past 50 years who I return to most often, it'd probably be Stevie Wonder, but as far as my influences go there are really too many to count! As for music professionals, I love the work & ideas of people like Bob Power, Russell Elevado, MixedByAli, Shawn Everett, Susan Rogers, and lots more.
