Interview with MerkaVenezuela

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I am proud of a few songs that i do ( all the process ) for my friend ReeneMusic, im proud of a remix that i work for Kiiara, also a remix make it for Jordan Tariff, among others.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Urban Latin reggaeton, Dubstep, Synthwave, Pop.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not at the moment

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: If I have to choose only one, it would be digital: Once you learn how to use digital, you can do incredible things and very very fast, in addition to the incredible versatility that digital has now.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I will never let them down, i will put all my heart and knowledge to do what i love, to make them love it too.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I think the creativity part, because when you start something and you use your imagination, nothing has limits, then that moment of emotions and creativity flows in an impressive way and is extremely gratifying when you feel the excitement of imagining and feeling something you like .

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: What if I can make them sing like gods? I say: Well, I will do everything I can if you put the maximum on your part, since I have some cards up my sleeve. Can you play the guitar or piano exactly like the artist such ...? I say: Well, each artist has their own essence, I offer you my vibe and my essence, we will see how it sounds and you tell me if you like it.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: Work outside assigned hours, work until very late in the morning, do not stop until I get what I want. Actually I should always take a break to renew energy

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: The most important thing is to know what they imagine and think. I usually ask questions to help the client express what he wants. Like for example: what do you feel when you think about the song? How do you imagine in the space where you are listening to it and what are you doing at that moment?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Always express yourself and tell him what you want and expect, because if you don't express yourself with him he won't be able to help you. I still don't know someone who can read thoughts, although I would love to have that power.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Guitar, Mic, Studio monitors, PC, Keyboard midi controller

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Well i guess the first time that i start playing a guitar, that was the beginning of it. Then i buy my first pc for recording and mixing, in that time like 2004 i was singing composing for a Reggae - Ska - Dub band, then i start to do music for my self and recording other bands, few years later i will start my professional career in music production, i start it working for my best friend ( He's a Urban Latin reggaeton, Ballad Singer and composer ). I think that i have at least 14 years.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style is risky and innovative, I always look for a way to give it a different touch. I use the dynamics changes a lot when I create a beat, because that kind of changes give it a different touch, makes you feel alive and makes everyone dance, of course it is accompanied by a melody that will make you thrill.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I want to work with as many artists as I can, because every artist has something unique to share and I would like to share that musical knowledge. I think if I had to choose one, it would be Zayn Malik, because he has an incredible vocal ability and vocal harmonies.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: You can always achieve what you propose or imagine, you just have to keep trying.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Urban Latin, Reggaeton, Pop, Dubstep, Synthwave, EDM, Ballad, Latin Ballad, Hip-Hop, Trap, RnB and others.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Do you know those melodies that you can't get out of your head? That hook that stays with you all day, let's say for many the most important thing of the song. Well, that is one of my strongest skills and I believe that generating vocal harmonies is the second, oh and I am always updated to what is trend in music. I have my personal unique touch for all that i do.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Creativity and professionalism is the most important thing to give a song and all my heart, because it is my passion

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Well i always ask my clients to tell me what they are feeling first ( About the song to work ), what they want it to be or spect it to be, what they want to do exactly and how. Then i will start giving my opinions and putting my creativity to work and express my vibe and ideas, then we can start working on the project.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Ok my studio its a like a store that you can find all that you need in the life ( Music ), i like to work with lots softwares to express myself, also like to get the emotion of a real thing ( Physical instruments ) but the most important thing that i have in my studio it's ( MY IMAGINATION ) i have no limits innovating with my mind.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Probably all the music that i know inspires me, to be more specific i love the urban latin reggaeton, dubstep and other genres

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: I usually do the complete work, starting from (The idea - Musical base - Beats - Melody ideas - Arrangements - Mix and Master), but sometimes i do only the melody idea and beat.
