Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: 7 African Powers Vol. 1 was very important to me, because it represents my spiritual walk, and it was the first time that I actually finished an entire product.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on a R&B E.P. and a 7 African Powers Vol. 2. to follow up the first Ep 7 African Powers Vol. 1 that was released this summer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I only know digital.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to deliver a professional product every time you deal with me.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It allows me to be free, i can say what I want and put what i feel into my music without really being judged.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Whats my motivation? Life's struggles the wins and the losses that we experience everyday in life is what makes me continue to express myself through song.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy. Sometimes it may look easy, but I put a lot of time and effort into everything that i do. If it comes from Dayo Femi you can bet its my heart, soul, and mind every time.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I like to as how the client felt when they first heard the track. I also like to know what the client has been through in life that makes them want to write whatever song they are working on at the time.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just be open minded and you'll have some beautiful vocals to go with your songs.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been singing my whole life. Spent sometime in church choirs, also sang in professional choirs as a child. I have been on my own personal career path for the past 4 years just making music, and looking for new ways to be heard.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Raw, Sweet, and Smooth.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Ibeyi, because of their ability to blend cultural sounds with R&B soul music I think they have a beautiful sound.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be confident in what you bring to a song.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly R&B but I am open to any and all genres of music. I just love making music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my vocals are my strongest skill with my lyrics coming in a close second.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring passion in my vocals, i bring creativity, i also bring a R&B sound with spiritual, and cultural lyrics.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Come in burn candles and simply get to work.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Record on Pro Tools.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: R. Kelly, Ibeyi, Adele, Maroon 5, Usher, Trey Songz, really anybody with good vocals and good lyrics.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do a lot of choruses, and R&B vocals.
