Interview with Hunter Rick
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A personal acoustic EP
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. You can imitate analog perfectly with digital methods of recording if you know what your doing, therefore making analog recording and equipment useless.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Prices are listed on my profile already. Alternative way to contact me: 1-760-547-4295 (make sure you make it clear what you are calling or texting about please)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm currently enrolled in college working towards my degree in audio engineering. I have been doing this as an amateur for 5 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Strong and aggressive, in your face
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Make sure to always record in stereo with every instrument and vocal just in case. It can provide for a really wide warm sound. Panning is key to making, vocals and instruments pop out.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Generally Hip-hop, and occasionally acoustic folk and punk styles.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: A large amount of a variety of skills lets me meet any required effects, sounds, and general mood you want out of your song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I can give a clean sound or a lo-fi intended sound if need while remaining listenable. I also can construct lush full sounding atmospheres in music, giving it an energetic and strong vibe.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I believe every project should have its own unique approach to get the best sound. This is art after all! So I don't follow the same process for everything I work on but rather finds what works for each song.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Will Oldham, Gregory and the Hawk, Mac Miller, and Lorde for their expertly executed production and mixes
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing and Beat Production typically
