Chris King is a Pianist/Keyboardist, Accompanist, Arranger, Musical Director and Conductor based in Sydney, Australia. A versatile musician, he has extensive experience playing across several musical genres including musical theater, cabaret, vocal and instrumental exam accompaniment, piano bars, tribute shows, pop/rock bands, big bands, jazz combos and film/television.
He has worked on several major Australian musicals, recently including:
The Book of Mormon, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, CATS and Wicked. Most recently Chris was Associate Musical Director on the Australia/New Zealand/Singapore tour of Disney’s Aladdin the Musical.
Chris also has extensive experience creating arrangements/charts and orchestrations spanning several musical genres.
He has programmed keyboards (including MainStage) for numerous productions/events.
Chris is a casual tutor/vocal coach/accompanist at NIDA and has worked in a similar capacity for the Australian Institute of Music, ED5 International, the Talent Development Project, the Sydney Eisteddfod and the NSW Schools Spectacular.
