Need amazing bass on your project? Look new further! I have over a decade of professional experience recording, touring, and producing, and have spent many hours honing my craft. My goal is to play on YOUR record! I have spent the past few years touring and recording with R&B legend Freddie Jackson and have experience in numerous genres.
My name is Carter Fox and I want to record your bass parts! I've been studying the craft for almost 2 decades and have been a professional since age 15, when I played my first paid-gig in a jazz quartet at a wine-tasting event at a local synagogue.
I started learning classical upright bass at age 9, adding electric bass (and branching into jazz and rock studies) at age 12. After learning as much as I could from my grade school music teachers, I began to study privately with world-renown bassist Gerald Veasley (Grover Washington Jr., Zawinul Syndicate), as well as studying theory and music with Kjell Benner (Magnum, Quiet Riot, Sister Sledge) and briefly with rocker Billy Childs (Britny Fox). I went on to attend Drexel University and get my degree in Music Industry and Law. During this time, I recorded in hundreds of sessions in Philadelphia, New York, and everywhere in between, and even did remote sessions for artists in Nashville, the west coast, or internationally. I also met Grammy-winning producer David Ivory and began working with him on various projects in both studio and live-performance settings (including with members of the Roots). In addition, I would engineer sessions for artists ranging from local bands to majors in Drexel University's recording studios as well as mix them for release.
In 2013, I joined the band JUTAUN and have been busy ever since.
