Interview with LoopWaves

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: I'm working on my brand-new tracks.

  3. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  4. A: The questions that often come up are about their song(s), and I always give them an honest opinion.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: I ask them about their goals with the music and what specifically about my music prompted them to reach out to me.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Provide as much information as you can about what you're looking for, then get ready to trust the process.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I have been doing this for more than 20 years. I started making music when I was 12 years old, and I'm a self-taught musician. I have been working as a freelancer for about 10+ years.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: My style has always been diverse. I love emotional and impactful dreamy music. For me, it's about something special that makes it stand out from the rest.

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: I'd love to collaborate with passionate and skilled musicians. Artists like Gareth Coker or Hans Zimmer, the Academy Award-winning composer of over 150 films across various genres, have always inspired me.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: I work in all genres, but I primarily focus on electronic and cinematic soundtrack music, as well as other genres, including house, techno, trance, progressive house, ambient, chill, hip-hop, and pop.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: My greatest strengths are my experience, my listening skills, and my attention to detail.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: I bring over 20 years of experience and a deep passion for music to the project. I have been producing, remixing, mixing, and mastering music every day for half of my life!

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: My work process starts with listening to the song or references multiple times to get a feel for the vibe. Then, I take specific notes on how I can enhance the song. I aim to add my own style and skill while staying true to the original artist's vision. Mixing: Once I receive the files, I import everything into FL Studio. I spend a lot of time preparing the project and then do a quick mix. I work on improving the recorded sounds and making them sound better. After a few revisions, the mix is approved, and I send it off in the required format. Mastering: I listen to the song outside of the DAW to ensure it's properly mixed. If there are no technical issues, I begin the mastering process and usually finish it in a few days.

  23. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  24. A: I love working in the box. I have been an FL Studio user for more than 15 years, and I have a selection of exceptional plugins that do what I want them to do. Including UVI, Waves Audio, MeldaProduction, IK Multimedia, Native Instruments, iZotope, Softube, and many more.

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: Gareth Coker, David Foster, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Ramin Djawadi, Kitaro, Yanni, Armin Van Buuren, Nicholas Gunn, Benny Andersson, Pink Floyd, Metallica, Vangelis, Jordan Rudess, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, David Guetta, Skrillex, Klaus Badelt, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Andrew Scheps (Mixing engineer), Chris Lord Alge (Mixing engineer). Too many more to mention.

  27. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  28. A: Hopefully soon.

  29. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  30. A: Digital. Because it's not the 90s.

  31. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  32. A: I'm going to do my best to give what you ask for, and that I won't take a project that I don't think I can deliver on.

  33. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  34. A: I think the biggest misconception about what I do is that many people do not understand the process, and they don't realize the time, money, and focus it takes to make a genuinely exceptional song.

  35. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  36. A: 1. FL Studio 2. My Speakers 3. MIDI Controller 4. Interface 5. Plugins

  37. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  38. A: Everything.

  39. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  40. A: Keep it simple.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: I'm primarily mixing and mastering engineer and music producer. Most of my work consists of composing electronic music and instrumental soundtrack. I also mix and master entirely produced/recorded tracks to a "Radio Ready" standard.
