My name is Richard Conning, known by most as Rico. I started out in the late 70s with Post Punk band The Lines (recently reissued on Acute records) and then became an engineer and remixer. In the 80s I specialized in electronic or industrial music and French pop. I mixed or produced for many of the most interesting bands of the time incuding Depeche Mode, Erasure, Coil, Swans, Laibach, Wire, Pere Ubu and Renegade Soundwave. I have a particular interest in French culture and co-produced albums by Etienne Daho and Arnold Turboust as well as composing a song for legend Françoise Hardy. As a freelance engineer I worked on sessions for Dusty Springfield and many others. I co-founded successful post production company M62 Sound Design; with studios in London and Los Angeles, our clients included most of the larger advertising agencies, working on campaigns for companies like BMW, Audi, Nike, Fila and Sega. In recent years I have returned to releasing my own albums as well as continuing to work with long-time clients. I'm available for mixing, production, Melodyne and/ or RX7 editing, arranging and programming.
