Hi Folks! My name is Jeff Wolpert. Over the last 35 years I’ve mixed a lot of tracks for a lot of successful artists. What I’ve learned is that the best results come from collaboration. Working together I can help you get the results you’ve been looking for from your tracks. I'll look at things like tuning and timing, arrangement, space and dynamics working in my own place Desert Fish Studios on my favourite gear in the room I’m most familiar with and you can even listen in real time via the internet.
My studio (desertfishstudios.com) is now equipped with a 9.1.6 Dolby Atmos® mix room, where I can mix and master your tracks in the latest immersive audio formats for distribution on Amazon Music HD and Tidal. My studio is featured on Dolby's site (professional.dolby.com/dolby-atmos-music-studios/).
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Working with Jeff was a great experience. He worked on our band's first album as a mastering engineer. He was helpful and did a great job with the sound. I am glad we approached him, and would definitely recommend him to anyone!

another great experience working with Jeff! fantastic mix! highly recommend !
I had a great experience with Jeff. I asked him to mix and master a song for me and he went above and beyond--allowing the song to play beautifully on all platforms. I loved that he wasn't afraid to experiment and try different things with the instrumental and vocal in order to turn the song "up a notch". Would definitely work with him again!
Jeff is a great guy who leaves the ego at the door. Professional and easy to work with. He got the mix and the master done in a timely manor and completed revisions upon request. Hope to work with him again soon.

I loved working with Jeff. Professional, respectful and on the money. I'm very happy with my mixes and would not think twice about working with him again.
Jeff is that rare combination of a superb artist and a superb technician. He instantly "got" what I was going for and he vastly improved the sonic character of my project. He has a unique ability to translate feedback into pure emotional results. I look forward to working with Jeff again.
Very professional and very talented. Not only did Jeff take my track from a scratchy bedroom demo to a professional sounding song , but he mastered it to sonic perfection. Assisting with anything I asked including vocals , and made me feel very comfortable in his studio. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional job for a great price.
Jeff real professional, I was pleased to work with him.
Interview with Jeff Wolpert
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the time I'm mixing. I produce a lot of the time mostly in collaboration with the artist.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I've got an analog/digital hybrid setup. A fully automated and recall-able SSL AWS 924 with full patch bay and tons of outboard gear along with a powerful Pro Tools HD system with literally hundreds of plug ins. I like to change monitors while I'm mixing for different perspectives and use models form PMC, JBL, Genelec, Yamaha and even a little Roland mono speaker.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen until I get a good idea of what the song is all about then I start to mix. I love it when the artist provides me with a good rough mix to help me see where they were going.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to get what the song is about and mix in a way that re-enforces that idea.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: After 30 years of mixing I've got a deep bag of tricks to make things happen.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly acoustic oriented.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: You really don't know if something works until you hear it.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: More than 30 years now! I've always owned my own studio except for the few years I spent as the chief engineer of a large studio complex. Even then I was technically freelance.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: An espresso maker, a great chair, PMC monitors, Neumann mics and the best musicians in the world.
