Interview with Mihaszna
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: a mellow beat (Trap) and a HC boombap from the 90's some riddim-kinda beat a beat with Muhammad Ali's voice on it
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: music itself, creating something.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: that the making of the lyrics part does not equal to the making of beats. I think it's rather 50-50, but i am alone with this
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been rapping since I was a kid (14 maybe) and I wrote hella lot of poems also (they're good, honestly) but i'm in love with music since I was born. I could say since a year i've started to create beats on my own for myself because i waited already too much for people to cooperate with.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: hardcore? maybe, if i check my lyrics or my volume when i am rapping, then yes, it is hardcore when i check my music or beats, it's rather experimental and emotional, typically full with extraordinary sounds, and more complex.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I really love to work with the Marley family, of course not Robert, but his sons. Should I explain why? ? ?
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: yeah, but it's not a tip, maybe just a hint. if u have something on your mind, don't listen anything else just yourself at the time you are at the first steps. While you are doing it, you easier accept opinions, pros and contras from everyone. But firts, listen to your instinct.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: usually on rap, hiphop, reggae-riddim, trap but i like lo-fi and downtempo, dnb and dubstep also
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: my inner chaos
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: since the beginning i am working on my own videos, so any of them could serve as a success for myself
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I don't like promises, but what I do, that I put every slice of my energy and style in the music which i am making
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: analog. I am rather a paper person, but nowadays we have to get use to the digital world also.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: not much as an advice, but be honest and straightforward, provide interest and so much respect as much you get from me, no more needed. Oh, and the love for creation
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: my laptop, a headphone, a speaker, a spliff and a lighter
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: creativity and hard work paired up with strong commitment
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Usually all of them, who likewise love the music itself, as it's exist, and we can express ourselves with it. But if i had to mention names: from my own country, there are not so many pro(s) who's inspiring me, but I do like the beats and the style of : * ESSEM * Funktasztikus * Steve Antal from Germany: * Sido * (former) Aggro Berlin * Bushido * Lance Butters from ROW: (rest of the world) * Bob Marley family ( from the Wailers, through the Melody Makers, till today: Damian, Yohan, Stephen, Julian Marley.) - with the message, the energy and beliefs they show, and the roots reggae as a beauty of ska * Johnny Cash - as one of the main characters * Terror Reid * The Four Owls * Dumbfounded * Smellington Piff * Daft Punk * Kanye West * Eminem * Nate Dogg and more are coming to the list
