Musician, songwriter and producer from Monterrey Mexico. Creator of the legendary 90s indie rock band Niña, owner of one of Mexico's most influential independent label Happy-Fi. Chajoe has recorded, produced and composed music since the early 90s with several bands and projects. To name a few, Chajoe has worked with Jumbo, Niña, D3ndron, Pato Machete, The Volture, Yo! Linares and the Happy-fi Compilaitions.
As a musician has shared the stage with international acts like The Strokes, Deep Purple, Guns N' Roses, The Sounds, Stone Temple Pilots, Los Planetas and more.

A: Finding a song from the past and matching production skills from other artists

A: Do you record drums and cymbals together? No, but recently I changed my mind using XLN silencer plugin

A: That I only work with indie rock, I work with most genres

A: Know your music basics (Music theory, basic session recording skills and instrument sound preferences)

A: an acoustic guitar, a solar charger, kaossilator, an ipad with korg gadget and a set of ik multimedia monitors

A: 30 years from analog to digital

A: When recording, always moniter on the input signal for the loudest peak before hitting the record button
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie pop rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Chord progressions and melodies
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Musical arrangements, harmonies and production tricks from other artists
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Work an idea through chord progressions, figure a melody, compose a complete line from start to finish on one or two instruments. Present the idea to other musicians, when the bass & drums are in progress, work out the lyrics. Record a session, mix and master.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work with a Mac computer with an Apollo audio Interface from Universal Audio. My preferred DAWs are Ableton Live and Logic. My faviorite plugins from Universal Audio, Fabfilter, XLN Audio, Ik Multimedia and Waves. My monitors are IK Multimedia.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Whitey, Cornelius and Brian Eno are my favorite all around music production and composing
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: As a producer I get involved in the songwriting and the recording process, if available on the band's rehearsal or in the recording process at the studio. With the mix and mastering I work on my personal home studio and review modifications via email and video conference.
