Hyplified Music on SoundBetter

Since 2004 we have provided music production-, songwriting-, recording- and mixing services to over a hundred clients with who we’ve either collaborated online or physically. Some international artists we've worked with: US rap artist French Montana, Dutch rap artist Ali B, Austrian Eurovision contestant Natalia Kelly. Will you be our next?

Hi there,

We are Hyplified, a music production agency from Amsterdam. We would love to work on your projects, so let's talk a bit about what we have to offer.

We are here on SoundBetter to get you great sounding music at affordable prices. The services we provide are:

• Music production (from demos to albums/EP's);
• Songwriting (lyrics and melodies)
• Recording (visit our studio when you're in or near Amsterdam)
• Mixing (vocals, instrumentals and full songs)

We also work closely with several mastering houses, so getting the final product mastered is optional.

Are you an artist, dj or (music) company looking for music? Don't hesitate to contact us.

With kind regards,

Hyplified

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

A good friend of mine introduced me to Hyplified in a good looking studio. They were very friendly and made me feel right at ‘home’. I was surrounded by 4 talented guys with a positive vibe. They are very patient to follow your tempo. I’m honoured to work with these guys and I would recommend them to anyone looking to make good music.

It’s always a pleasure to work at the Hyplified studio! The studio is really nice and the atmosphere there gives you a comfortable work environment to record or write. Also the producers are nice to work with, they each have their own expertise which complement each other.

As an artist manager I value hard working people who are open for ideas and know how to better them. Whether it was with one of my own artists, Dimello, or with established artists such as French Montana and Cassie, Hyplified has always been flexible, easy to work with and delivered the quality we expect from them. Definitely recommending!

I've been in the business for over 20 years, just doing great stuff. Once in a while in life your path crosses that of people you immediately feel a connection with. That's the case with Hyplified. All skills aside (and they are skilled), these guys are just great to work with. Highly recommended.

When I first started to work with the Hyplified men years ago I immediately felt a great atmosphere. An almost perfect balance between songwriting and producing skills, knowledge, dedication and constantly flowing creativity. So that made it very easy for me to work with these talented, and also very important, goodhearted men!

Interview with Hyplified Music

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Will be added soon.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: We're currently working on a few EP's, one of them our own. Very exciting.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: The Songwriting team

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both, because they work great together. We live in an awesome time where we're able to benefit from the possibilities both have to offer.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Our promise to our clients is that we will always be open and honest about the possibilities. If we feel like we're not a good fit for a project we'll be happy to forward you to someone we think fits. If we do feel like we're a good fit we will make sure to give you exactly that what you had in mind and hopefully even more while making the experience something you will look back at with a smile every time you press play.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The fact that it doesn't feel like a job, since it's just such a big part of who we are. The fact that we couldn't see ourselves going a day without music. The mysterious ways in which creativity seems to work. Someone could say something while you're sitting behind them in the bus which sets the base for a whole new song.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Q: Can we do another project together? A: no, please, no! Haha.. (Obviously joking) *We'll have to think about this.*

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception about what we do is that we only work with artists. We provide music services to artists, labels and brands who are in need of music for their project.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: We ask our prospective clients to tell us about theirselves and what they've done until now, what they are looking for currently and what their ambitions or plans are for the near future.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: My advice would be to contact us so we can schedule a (Skype) call and get to know eachother better. We would love to hear about the project you're working on and could need some help with.

  21. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: Our strongest skill is listening. We take our time to understand exactly what is asked from us even when the client doesn't know exactly how to describe it. Our second best skill is our flexibility. Nothing is too crazy for us, we're always ready to cross borders and experience new levels of creativity.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: We would love to work with any artist who is ready to work hard and take down walls.

  25. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  26. A: We bring our experience and know-how on getting the most out of the client we work with. We make sure it feels like a fun, creative ride which will develop into a finished product that highlights the best assets of our client. Most of all we make sure the work we provide is functional and doesn't take away from the message the client is hoping to bring across. All while keeping a close eye on delivering the best possible quality.

  27. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  28. A: Guitar or piano, macbook pro, microphone, monitor speakers and preamp.

  29. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  30. A: We have been working together since 2004. When we started out we were focused on making songs for ourselves, since we all also sing, but soon after other artists asked us to work on music for them. Been a great ride ever since, with the usual ups and downs, and we're hoping to add many more years to our book.

  31. Q: How would you describe your style?

  32. A: Our style would be best described as a fusion of where we come from, where we're currently at and where we're heading.

  33. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  34. A: Less is more. Give a good song room to breathe and make sure every element has it's function in the song. Make the right elements stand out in the right places and make sure you determine the focal point of the song. Don't be afraid to use the mute button.

  35. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  36. A: The majority of our work lies in commercial pop, hiphop and R&B.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Typically we would start off with a (Skype) call in which we get to know the customer and understand his or her needs better. We would then start working on one or more drafts which would be sent to the customer for approval. Upon approval we would work on getting the production, lyric or mix to the point where we feel it's close to a finished product. After bringing the customer up to speed on the progression and possibly getting back some feedback we finish the project and send the files out as asked for by the customer.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: We mainly work in the box except for recordings. So aside from wonderful plugins made by companies like Slate Digital, Universal Audio, Waves, Kush Audio and such we use hardware gear made by for example Tube Tech, Rupert Neve Designs, Flea, Neumann, Focal and Apogee Digital.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: We are inspired by so many musicians and music production professionals on a daily basis, it's hard just to name a few. There's just something magical about creativity. From MXWLL, Cashmere Cat and Flume to Pharell, Rick Rubin and Timbaland to Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL to the wonderful musicians we get to work with, among whom Rory de Kievit, Ike Akoy and many more.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: The most common type of work we do is production work. Whether in combination with songwriting, recording and/or mixing, producing music is what we do most.
