Eric Beaty Music Services on SoundBetter

CREATIVE AND EXPRESSIVE ACOUSTIC & ELECTRIC GUITAR: LEAD SOLOS, RHYTHM, FILLS, DI RE-AMP, ETC. (ROCK, SHRED, BLUES, POP, COUNTRY, BLUEGRASS, GOSPEL, ETC.)

Eric Beaty here from the good old state of Tennessee. I'll help you create the best guitar tracks possible for your song. (My specialty instrument is Bluegrass guitar, but this wasn't an option on SoundBetter.)

My goal is to bring my musical perspective—honed over the years by inspirational guitar legends such as Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Marco Sfogli, Tony Rice, Bryan Sutton, and many more—to your work and give you the tracks you need to make your musical mark on the world.

I'll record RHYTHM guitars (multi-tracked for that infamous wide stereo sound); FILLS for plugging up the holes in your songs; and/or soulful, melodic LEAD solos.

NOTE: I'm also interested in MIXING projects.

Gear List:

Electric Guitars:
- Ibanez AZ242BC. Tons of tonal options. Extremely versatile. Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups.
- Ibanez RGEW521MZW. A beast. Dimarzio Air Norton and Tone Zone for the ultimate tones in Hard Rock & Metal.
- Ibanez RG4EX1. This is the classic 80's Rock guitar. Ibanez Infinity pickups pack a punch.

Acoustic Guitars:
- Breedlove Revival DR-Deluxe. A hoss of an instrument. Plenty of punch and tone for that signature Bluegrass sizzle.
- Martin DCX1E. Also a great guitar with a little more brightness for cutting through a mix.

Interview with Eric Beaty Music Services

  1. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  2. A: Provide quality guitar tracks at an affordable rate.

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  4. A: Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Marco Sfogli, Joe Satriani, Tony Rice, Bryan Sutton, Tommy Emmanuel, Joe Gilder, Graham Cochrane

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: Recording/Production Equipment: Avid Eleven Rack Behringer UPHORIA UMC204HD Mac Mini 2018 BBE Sonic Maximizer Guitars: Ibanez SA130MFM Ibanez RG4EX1 Ibanez AZ242BC Martin DCX1E Breedlove DR Deluxe Revival Series

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: Take time to listen to the song to get the best feel for it. Play around with some sounds and riffs on my guitar. Dial in the perfect tone to suit the piece, then record.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: My experience of over 25 years creating and playing music. Over those 25 years, I have been privileged to record several albums and demos, so there's that insight as well. My personal style is inspired by many influences, also listed here.

  11. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  12. A: My ability to quickly assess and learn what I need to in order to provide the best quality.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Bluegrass, Gospel, 80s Shred, Instrumental

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Guitar tone is largely subjective, but your ears are your most important guide. Get the best tone you can BEFORE recording. This will make the post-production much easier. As far as actual production, the initial static mix, I've found, is the most important step; volume and panning are your best friends as a foundation to start every mix.

  17. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  18. A: An artist who isn't limited by a closed mind. Creativity is largely messy and organic, and you can't have a closed mindset if you really want to breathe life into your work.

  19. Q: How would you describe your style?

  20. A: Melodic and purposeful. I don't like to play typical scalar leads just for the sake of them. I prefer to inject solos and phrases that enforce the overall melody of the song.

  21. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: My career path used to be work at a normal job and get a paycheck. In 2012, when I was laid off from my "normal J.O.B." (Just Over Broke), I decided to work for myself. My main source of income since then has been teaching private guitar lessons at a local Christian school for the arts. I've been honing my creative passions ever since.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: My Ibanez AZ242BC My Eleven Rack (I'm guessing accessories like headphones, cables, etc., don't count) My Breedlove DR Deluxe Revival series My Behringer UPHORIA UMC204HD audio interface My Mac Mini 2018 (w/ monitor & keyboard) With all these pieces of gear, I could create just about any music I want.

  25. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  26. A: Always be as specific as possible concerning what your goals are for your work. The more details the provider knows, the easier the process will be for both the consumer and the provider. Also, the better the provider will be able to best represent the vision for the final product.

  27. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  28. A: What are your goals/vision for the project? Is there a specific tone you're looking for? What turnaround time do you need and can you be flexible?

  29. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  30. A: Creating art is the easiest thing in the world. If it was the easiest thing, everybody would do it. Most of the time you have to create for love because it's hard to make a living at it.

  31. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  32. A: The freedom to create my own schedule.

  33. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  34. A: I will provide my best quality work to the best of my abilities within a reasonable amount of time.

  35. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  36. A: Digital. Technology increases by leaps and bounds year after year. With a few simple plugins, you can achieve 95% or more of the sounds analog equipment can achieve. It's more convenient, more portable, easier, and more affordable overall.

  37. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  38. A: Producing and Mixing my debut album of Bluegrass Gospel music entitled "Revival in the Air." Any other music-related side projects that crop up on a whim. Creating digital instructional tutorials and courses. Maintaining my YouTube channel (Eric Beaty Creations).

  39. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  40. A: My latest single, "Metal Crush." It's my first experience mixing drums and creating a track similar to two of my all-time favorite guitarists: Paul Gilbert and Marco Sfogli.
