I create soundtracks for storytellers. Helping artists redefine their identity, develop a sound and earn from their music. THERE IS NO BOX. 🚫📦 Producing for artists that have gone on to land distribution deals, be nominated for Espy awards, and accrue millions of streams in over 100 countries. Music featured on shows on VH1, Hulu, Bravo & more.
I’m obsessed with my mission… To help true hip hop and r&b artists have break-out careers without having to sacrifice their roots, authenticity, and culture. The foundation of our genre is and will continue to be story-telling, and until the end of time people will be infatuated with stories. It’s my job to help you, the artist, discover or re-connect with your identity, make real songs, and put you in the best position possible to reap the rewards of your hard work.
I / THE STORY
Every project starts with a pre-production process that allows me to learn more about your story, help you develop (or refine) your artistic identity, and carefully plan out the project to make sure we’re on point to hit goals.
II / THE SUBSTANCE
Next, we dive into the creative process. Everything from custom beats, songwriting, hook writing, mixing and mastering. At the end of phase II you’ll have a market-ready song and will hopefully be the one that changes your career.
III / THE STRATEGY
I’ll assist you with administration, distribution, and general business consulting. I want you to have a plan right out of the gate and make sure that you’re set up to generate royalties, create leverage, and get traction.

Interview with KTGotBeats
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: If you're not familiar with Inky Johnson, look up his album Empty the Bucket. We're over 2 million streams and 100 countries in and it was all positive energy.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that you'll walk away knowing exactly who you are as an artist and how to push yourself out of the box you may have been in.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Many people ask why I don't work with everyone that reaches out to me. I want to create with people when we are a good fit to work together. That's important to me to create the best songs we can.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That music producers only make beats. Our goal is always to create the BEST song possible.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I send all of my artists an Artistic Identity Assessment so that I can learn exactly who you are as an artist and we can use that as inspiration going forward.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who's here to help you grow as an artist. That may mean challenging your ideas or finding new ways to stir creativity.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop and a small keyboard is all I need.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been producing artists for 10+ years, making beats for about 17 years. Been playing piano and lived around music my entire life though.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I create soundtracks for hip hop/ r&b storytellers.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: J. Cole, because he's one of the best storytellers around. Stevie Wonder is my favorite all time though!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Helping artists become comfortable getting out the box. Many times I assist artists with developing their OWN sound based on their life and experience.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: For me, it's all about the story. I love to help artists tell the best version of their stories as possible.
Q: What's your typical work process?
