Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A set of Youtube live streams about music production on the channel 'Detroit-Berlin'
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making the clients track a finished product that they can be proud of!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I can master a track for free first. I try to stay polite.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask if they have a reference track and if they mind a bit of coloring in case this is beneficial to the track.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Proper headroom gives me more room to work my magic and good communication is always helpful.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Heavily inspired by Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode. For techno mastering I'm feeling inspired by labels like Mord, Token and Dystopian.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix and master on an SSL console and various pieces of analog outboard, I also work in the box from time to time if that approach fits the project best.

A: Both! It's all about flavours
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Mastering is making the track louder, it's much more than just loudness it's about dynamics and making the track come to life.

A: Graphic designer with over ten years in music production and sound engineering

A: Tension and release, incorporate it in your track and it will be more interesting!
