Over 15+ years of experience writing, playing and mixing music in studio and on stage. I'm known for my 'clean and warm' production style. Pitchfork likened it to a 'thick tapestry'. Some credits include opening for Passion Pit, recording Smash Mouth and mixing Benny Golson live. I own a wide variety of instruments and I'm not afraid to get weird.
I'm an audio geek who likes working on anything that crosses my desk as long as it's with people who are respectful and who share my passion for creativity. I've engineered hundreds of sessions for a wide variety of genres and in various settings, so I feel pretty capable at tackling whatever gets thrown at me because it's likely that I've heard it before. That being said, my specialization is in audio mixing, and my favorite genres include rock, indie, pop, hip hop and electronica.
I have a capable home studio with a variety of instruments, microphones, plug-ins and outboard gear, but am also willing to record and/or mixdown material on-site or in a professional setting. I'm familiar with most of the main DAWs (Pro Tools/Avid, Logic, Reaper...) but lately have been doing most of my work in Ableton Live.
I've played different instruments in different bands over the years, toured a bit, learned the ins-and-outs of how to perform and produce a good show, something worth listening to.
Growing up my parents played a lot of the Police and Steely Dan. I loved the energy of the former and the production of the latter and try to thread the needle in between them when it comes to my mixing style.
I also love to sample because anything is an instrument and that concept still blows my mind every day.
