Professional studio and mix engineer, session guitar and bass player, audio janitor at your service
When they're not on tour, Cassi Blum is a professional mix engineer and guitar player based out of Portland, Oregon. After crushing a commercial studio internship and graduating to assistant engineer, they went fully freelance and cut their teeth tracking rock and grunge bands, later producing and releasing music under the moniker Deaf Dog. Pop mixes are where they shine, but they also excel in bringing a full and heavy sound to your rock and metal tracks.
A dynamic and off-kilter guitar player, they write and record guitar and bass that dances around your lyrics and rhythm, adding riffs and hooks to lift your tracks and keep them memorable. Their keen engineer ear allows them dial in good and appropriate tones that fit your track's vibe and feel, staying unique while feeling natural.
Their off-timed tendencies translate well to their top-lining work, floating melodies in your songs that stick in your brain. Versatile and open to anything, they write and perform as a rock, pop, and punk musician.
As an avid video game lover, they'd love to flex their dreamy, moody instrumental vibe on your next game development. Hail Sithis <3

Cass (Deaf Dog) was extremely professional and very attentive to what you are looking for in your song. They show enthusiasm to get the job done right and will work hard to make sure you are happy with your song. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Cass, they are personable and kind and great at what they do. It's hard to find someone like that who cares about your project as much as you do. I can't recommend them enough!

Cassi was incredible to work with, and honestly nailed it out of the gate. I'll definitely be coming back for my next song.
