Hey!

I'm Cris Torres (or Cristian if you want) I have been playing guitar for the last 12 years in live concerts, recording studios, churches and a lot of different places more. I played for artist like Hanners Diaz, Dragon Rojo, Jenny Lee Católica, Lau&Cris, Rolyn Music and some other artists in Colombia and U.S.A. In 2019 I'm playing live for Caracol International T.V. channel, where I'm the music director for the Catholic Services on Sundays, you can see the Services live all Sundays at 6.30 am (UTC-5)

I'm a big fan of the beautiful sounds so I always think about that when I'm at the stage or studio, I love to create music with soul and passion, music that the people can remember! I can assure you that I'll use the same feelings on your recordings.

    I worked with Cris on a full album and I can confidently recommend him as an outstanding musician, he has advanced skills in harmony, rhythm and great musicality suited for various music genres. He is also a great sight reader which is definitely a plus for a guitar player.

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  2. A: Mike Landau, Camilo Velandia, Steve Lukather, Carlitos del Puerto, and many, many more.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: MangoBlues by Igor Soyyo. I recorded the album and play it live a lot of times (still do) it is an amazing project.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: Musical director for an international tv show, teaching lessons and recording guitars.

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: I do not know him personally but he's also from Colombia. Camilo Silva, mixing engineer.

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Both... the line between the two is getting thinner and I think you can have the best of the two worlds.

  12. A: They will be satisfied with the tracks, I'm always open to hear what they want and make it real.

  14. A: Be able to work with people and music from all the world, find sounds, colors.

  16. A: Can you make it similar to ¨x¨song? For sure, but let me hear your previous songs to find your style. Are you sure you can do that? Yes, please check my background. Can we make a price deal? Yeah, as everything we can find a deal.

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: Sometimes I do a lot and the producer just use the 70% of the tracks.

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: I got you. Can I do some extra things for you?

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: Let me hear your ideas and thoughts, from then we'll find what the song need.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Fender Strat, Godin Multiac, Bogner Amp, Tuner and backup strings.

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: I started as a young kid playing Metallica songs, years later I meet jazz & blues and from then I started to do it seriously. It's been 13 years since that. I have been playing in Colombia and U.S.A. as a sideman, worship leader guitarist, musical director for tv shows, also taking lessons with Camilo Velandia, Mike Moreno, Pablo Padilla, Steve Khan and many many more.

  28. A: Powerful and suitable for what is needed, solid and stable.

  29. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  30. A: Eros Rammazzoti, he's a great singer and his music is wonderful in every aspect.

  32. A: Don't erase any idea.

  33. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  34. A: Blues, rock, funk, folk latin music.

  35. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  36. A: I able to think not just as a guitar player.

  38. A: Space, bigger sound, strong melodies and chords.

  40. A: Find how can I help the song, then record different ideas to use the best. Record them.
