My passions are sound design, cross-genre exploration, and experimentation. My debut album, "O", is a perfect example (see website link below). "O" was created from a wide range of sample sources: VHS tapes, EEG, field recordings, etc. This album weaves through IDM, Ambient, Drone, Hip-Hop, and Jazz. Produced, mixed and mastered entirely by me.
I was born into a musical family, my father being a Dixieland trumpeter and my mother being a Flamenco dancer. I began my musical training at a young age on the guitar (acoustic and electric) and continued that education outside the home with various teachers. Thusly, I've acquired 10+ years of Jazz guitar experience as well as extensive knowledge of music theory. I then went to Virginia Commonwealth University and studied at the Department of Kinetic Imaging, a BFA program with emphasis on New Media and Sound. There, I applied my previous musical training to the field of electronic production and expanded my expertise from the guitar to all areas of sound production / editing. Since then I've worked as beatmaker, session guitarist, boom operator, mixing and mastering engineer, and sound editor for films and videogames. I've worked in genres such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Electronic, and Metal.
I have deep knowledge in all phases of musical production:
- song composition / music theory
- instrumental / field recording
- drum programming
- experimental methods such as Max / MSP and glitch
- foley / convolution reverb design
- mixing for stereo / multichannel formats
Software: Ableton Live Suite, Izotope RX, Max / MSP / Jitter, Garageband, Reaper
Last but not least, I can scream in Black Metal style.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.
