Interview with Hezekiah Roberson (L.D.S)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Benjamin Calvin (L.D.S)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Because that's all I have, lol.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The only promise I can make is that I will do my best to bring your vision to life.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Helping people. Some people push me to want to do better, Its not a competition, but I strive to do my best. I love that when the screen starts off blank and then by the time its done I can see how things that we in my mind are now on the screen. Its surreal.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Gospel only. And please don't try to finesse me. I don't like that.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: If I can travel and do music everyday ,WELL, At least some rest days in between I would.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I honestly just pray and let God do what he do through me. Im energetic if the project requires that. Im calm if the project requires that. I don't like being depressed, so those projects are not my bag.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I try not to limit myself to one specific person. I want the people that the industry over looks. I want to work with the people that wouldn't get a second look.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Pray before you start. And pride makes it really hard to work with a person. Its not something you can see at first, but by the time you see it you probably already offended somebody.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: GOSPEL ONLY!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Christ. Everyday I ask myself how I do what I do and the only answer that I can come up with is, "Thank you Jesus".
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring Christ, The anointing that destroys the yoke of satan, And Hezekiah Roberson. You can expect those 3 every time.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Prayer, Listen, and Flow.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love the sound of 1. Gospel is my heart and so as long as its edifying to Christ and everyone is flowing together, I'm inspired. I haven't really did much research on other producers. However bands like John P Kees band, of City of Refuge band sets the tone for me. The communication and musicianship is phenomenal.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: So I don't take lightly the statement Jesus is good, because with out him nothing we do would work. We are here to serve the client. If you want music production, but not limited to visual production L.D.S has you covered. Video editing, Photography and full music production are our fields of focus at this moment. We inspire to bring the best out of your vision.
