Endorse Jed Demlow ProductionsI am the Lyricist and Executive Producer of Emotional Terrorist. Once we handed this project to Jed his talents took this project to an entirely new level. Once the team heard the final mix, their reactions were a collective "Wow!". Jed is a trustworthy communicator and in my opinion, the best in the business.
The music video I directed “Emotional Terrorist” by Billy Mercury hadn’t been mixed when I had it for production and for the edit. The EP on the project got Jed on for the final mix which I received just before the video was to release. Talk about absolutely blown away! The new mix came back and it was like day and night. EVERYTHING sounded so much fuller, so much better. In the film world there’s a saying that the sound is half the picture. Jeds work brought my work to a much better place.
Jed is the trifecta - he has great ears, he knows how to get any sound you're looking for and he's SUPER easy to work with! In addition to that, he knows just about every country, country-rock and rock song ever written from his experience as a singer/pianist. He draws from that huge body of experience to produce your song in the best possible arrangement. I am very happy with how he brought my song to life and recommend him to any songwriter! Finally, I think he could ask higher prices for the quality he provides! - Doug H. singer/songwriter

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Songwriter demo this morning then production on Steel Ivory record this afternoon.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not sure. Haven't had time to peruse who's on here yet.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. If it's good enough for Andrew Schepps to mix records in the box, it's good enough for me. Plus I can't afford to pay 2700 for an 1176.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: 100% satisfaction or you pay nothing.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working from home!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you do this? If it's country, country/pop, contemporary music - YES!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: You just put up a mic and everything sounds great.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your end goal with this song? How do you hear this song sounding? What commercial song is out there that you want this song to kinda sound/feel like?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Talk with them for a bit before hiring them to see if they listen/hear you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook pro with all my pluggins, Universal audio front end, Sphere L22 mic system, NI Komplete system /keyboard, my fender Tele.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started doing songwriter demos out of a mobile home in Pataskala, OH in 1990. We moved to Nashille in 2017 and things have really taken off from there. I do one or two songwriter productions or a toplining track every day.

A: Country
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Greg Wells. He's a music producer that inspires me.

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I get a worktape from the client and go over what their vision is first. Then I do a quick rough to make sure we're going in the right direction. Once that is confirmed we crank out the production, get that approved by the client then mix and finalize for delivery.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a powerful mac running pro tools/ studio one with all the best pluggins available. Multiple guitars/bass, keyboards, Roland Vdrums kit. I have Universal Audio front end and I love the Console1 system that I use on most everything.
