Hi, I’m Katsuyuki Kobayashi — a Tokyo-born mixing & mastering engineer with over 20 years of experience in the Japanese music industry.
I’ve worked on 150+ songs a year, collaborating with top-tier artists including ELLEGARDEN, STANCE PUNKS, Nothing’s Carved In Stone, and PAM. I specialize in J-Pop, Rock, City Pop, and Lo-Fi, blending analog warmth with modern clarity to create emotionally impactful sound.
I began my career at a major commercial studio, later joining renowned producer Tetsurō Oda's studio, and eventually worked with the team behind GROWING UP records. I’m passionate about crafting mixes that preserve the soul of the performance — whether it's raw energy from a rock band or the soft nuance of a pop vocal.
My philosophy is rooted in analog imperfection — embracing beautiful chaos and emotional resonance. Every project receives care and precision, whether you're an indie artist or a major label act.
