I want to play fat drums on your song! Dedicated to the art of studio drumming, and trained as an engineer, arranger, and player.
I'm a studio drummer that has dedicated my life to recording. I want your song to become exactly the record you intend it to be!
I've played on records from around the world, from the US to Taiwain, Korea, Serbia, Ecuador, and the UK. While I spend most of my time in the studio, I've toured the US, Canada, and Korea, keeping my chops sharp on the road.
I'm trained as an engineer, arranger, and producer, graduating from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Contemporary Writing & Production and Music Production & Engineering. When I'm working on a record, I listen to everything: the emotion, the lyrics, the sonics; and I have the technical and musical ability to bring out the beauty of your music.
Your song is everything; I want to help you uncover it!

Interview with Alex Fansel
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That it results in new music, something that was created from nothing! That's awesome.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Find someone that makes you feel comfortable with your music. Music is about communication and relationships between people... and session musicians, engineers, etc. are all still part of that!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: There's a fine line between serving a song, and killing a song with "too much stuff". You have to really be in tune with the music to know the difference. Add stuff when inspiration strikes, but don't be afraid to throw everything out.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is adjusting my playing and feel to fit the vibe and create a "color".
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I feel that I bring a discerning ear, deep connection to drum and microphone vibe/timbre/color, and the ability to think like a producer or arranger while playing.
