"Smooth -- but not too smooth." I've been blessed with music airing on Sirius XM Radio, Music Choice, The Weather Channel, Pandora Radio, and Spotify's "Smooth Drive" editorial playlist. Soprano saxophone -- the horn most players dodge -- is my specialty, allowing me to deliver a rare, rich sound.
I have released three albums and two singles as featured artist, and performed the soprano saxophone on recordings for Grammy-nominated jazz guitarist Ken Navarro, Grammy-nominated producer Joel Diamond, gospel multi-instrumentalist Terrence Richburg, and guitarist John Carey.
I create dynamic solos to enhance the musical vision of the artist/producer, and tasteful accompaniment to complement lead vocals and instrumental parts. I am also experienced in instrumental song composition and horn arrangements.
I provide clean, ready-to-mix saxophone tracks thanks to my home studio and top-of-the-line condenser mic (AKG C414 XLII).
Here's what a few industry experts have said about my sound:
“It warmed my heart the first time I heart it,” says Woods-Riddick. “It was like a warm cup of hot chocolate on a blustery winter day with caramel drizzle on top.” -- Makeba Riddick-Woods, Grammy Award-winning songwriter, on my cover of the gospel hit song "Won't He Do It" (Koryn Hawthorne)
"The maturity of his vision for life and music is quite compelling and is born out in the sound of his horn." -- Kirk Whalum, Grammy Award-winning saxophonist and composer
"A warm night outside met a cool set inside, and the contrast was much appreciated — as was the impressive set by the weatherman with a penchant for sax and smooth jazz." -- Ron Jackson, The Smooth Jazz Ride
