My name is Kamber and I am a Nashville-based pianist, vocalist, and songwriter. My distinctive blend of raw, passionate vocals and classical training will add a special finesse to your next project.
I have been playing piano since I was only 5 years old, but it wasn't until I was a teenager that the passion for art, music, and performing ignited inside my heart. Born and raised in Central Florida, I started my musical journey with the piano. Raised on Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Debussy, I fell in love with the great classical composers. However, when I became a teenager, my love for rock and alternative music was found in bands and artists such as Tori Amos, Imogen Heap, Nirvana, Flyleaf, Foo Fighters, Kate Bush, Soundgarden, and Muse just to name a few. I believe my love for classical and rock music fuses together to give me a unique sound.
Currently, I am the lead vocalist and songwriter of an alternative rock band called Raviner, and I also perform as a solo artist (Kamber). I've been performing as a solo artist and with a band for more than 10 years.
Because of my intense musical training, I have a wide set of skills that helps me collaborate with other artists and musicians. I am a strong sightreader for sheet music and chord charts, as well as a strong "ear player". I am comfortable improvising, composing, and creating parts and melodies. I like to think of myself as a skilled "musical problem solver". Whether you need a simple piano accompaniment, a fully composed string or orchestral arrangement, a lyric, or a vocal melody or hook, I can help!

Great singing - but not just that - even more impressive was how she interpreted the lyrics and the melody.

Kamber gave me something that was, not too heavy, and not too light. It was just right. She is very good, and very easy to work with.

Honestly, Kamber killed it. This is the first project I have ever assembled on SoundBetter and I couldn't be happier with the experience and with what Kamber brought to the table. She adding things I couldn't hear and made the song so much better for it. I am definitely using this service again and can't imagine hiring anyone else.
I really enjoyed the process of working witih Kamber for the first time and look forward to working with her soon. Why? Because she communicates often, providing samples and taking guidance on changing the delivery style, power etc...
Kamber is a great communicator. She asked great questions and looked to understand what we wanted from her piano composition. She worked quickly to deliver the final track and kept us updated with samples along the way. She sought feedback, guidance and clarification. The tracks she delivered is exceptional and we would be happy to work with her again.
Kamber was easy to work with. I really appreciated the enthusiasm she brought to my project. She showed no hesitation in showing her creativity, and easily accepted my direction, and suggestions. This was a fun process.
She was awesome! Exactly what I wanted!

Interview with Kamber
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently in the middle of rolling out both a stripped-down acoustic EP for my solo work (kambermusic.com) and a new EP for my band, Raviner (raviner.com).
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I highly recommend Thomas Daniel. He is a fantastic vocalist, songwriter, and has an incredible knack for creating beautiful, ear-catching melodies. I also recommend Geena Fontanella. She is a powerhouse vocalist! For any of your producing, mixing, or mastering needs, I would definitely recommend Rob Shollenberger (RompStomp Inc) known for creating a big studio sound with an indie budget. And for your bass guitar, synthesizing, producing, and/or arranging needs, go ahead and reach out to Josh Howard - he never disappoints!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That my artistic projects / releases reflect solely on what I can handle in the studio. I come from an extremly diverse background of styles and genres including pop, rock, indie, CCM / worship, singer-songwriter, folk, musical theatre, classic rock, folk, jazz, and much more.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working professionally as an artist and musician since I moved to Nashville, TN in 2013 following my graduation with a Bachelor's in Music Business.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Singer-songwriter music wrapped in ambient-pop soundscapes, as well as raw, stripped-down piano-driven or guitar-driven tracks with an alternative rock edge. I often utilize other acoustic instruments for songwriting and arranging including my acoustic guitar or my ukulele for further inspiration.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a professional home demo setup including a MacBook Pro Computer, Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, Logic Pro X, Perception 200 Condensor Microphone, Alesis V61 MIDI Controller, AKAI L29 MIDI Controller, and Kawai ES100 Stage Piano. I have MIDI capabilities as well as direct audio out capabilities. Because I am Nashville-based, I also have access to professional studios including Sound Pallet Studios and Gnome Studios that I use for full vocal production projects.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Adele, Amy Lee, Carole King, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell, Elton John, Fiona Apple, Freddie Mercury, John Lennon, Joni Mitchell, Lacey Sturm, Lady Gaga, Leigh Nash, Marilyn Manson, Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, Sia, Trent Reznor, Tori Amos
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to my clients is that I will not finish a project until they are absolutely happy. No settling!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Who are your artistic and/or musical influences? What inspires you?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My ukulele, acoustic guitar, upright piano, notebook, and a pencil! All assuming they wouldn't get ruined by thunderstorms or swept away by the tides. ;)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Cinematic, dark, haunting, ambient, raw, visceral, edgy, wistful, melancholy, pensive, reflective, emotional
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would absolutely love to work with Swedish-based production house // indie record label 'to whom it may concern'. They manage visionary artists and bands like ionnalee and iamamiwhoami. Their beautiful electronic, cinematic soundscapes are so inspiring to me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Some of the most common work I do for my clients is vocal, piano, keyboard, and synthesizer parts. I can easily create just the right melodies, hooks, riffs, or full accompaniments that a song or track needs. I also often write songs from scratch using a given track or fleshed out arrangement for support, or sometimes with only a simple concept or idea. I've also composed string and orchestral arrangements for clients, depending on the needs of the song!
