Interview with Juri Jakimuk

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: Oh na na, just be careful, na na Love ain't simple, na na Promise me no promises

  3. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  4. A: That it's my hobby.

  5. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  6. A: Stop looking and contact me.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: 1 guitar and 4 string sets.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I've started producing music and recording vocals since 14. I've experience remixing the songs, creating original songs, doing covers. I used to do everything myself: producing music, recording vocals, polishing the sound and that was sooo time consuming and there was almost no feedback and not rewarding at all. I think in some point of time I've understood that I enjoy singing the most, rather than spending the whole life in research of plugins, samples, tools, mixing and mastering on my own, etc. I just want to sing now, that's it. There are cool talented guys out there to do all the rest.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: I can't label it.

  13. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  14. A: The Chainsmokers. The music taste they have and the professionalism they demonstrate and the fact that they are so open to different collaborations and ideas resonates with me.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: Don't keep thousands of projects half-finished on your device, better have a few, but polished and ready for the world.

  17. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  18. A: EDM, pop, anything that's actually trending.

  19. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  20. A: Making the song sound unique and catchy at the same time, like it's a hit.

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: I bring a concept, a story, my vision of the product. I'm trying to put something into the song the listener can find him-/herself related to.

  23. Q: What's your typical work process?

  24. A: Recording thousand times, overthinking the concepts, changing everything until a perfect sound is found.

  25. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  26. A: Vocals: Blue Spark Digital Instrument: Digital Piano Yamaha Arius YDP-163 R
