Endorse DRMX StudiosI've been working with Jeff over at the RMS Studios for about five years now and he's always delivered on time and on point. He's even pulled off some magic when I got my files to him latthan I should have to meet deadlines. which shows his dedication to his people. I would recommend him for any of your projects.
This is a special place, a true gem. The Studio itself is top notch. It has everything you could want, and such a chill atmosphere. Jeff is amazing. He genuinely wants you to win and puts his all into each project. I am always blown away with the final results. Just check DRMX out, and you'll see.
Very satisfied with DRMX Studios, great quality work, comfortable environment, and quick turnaround!
Interview with DRMX Studios
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Lady Sol's debut record "Over It" was recorded and mixed at DRMX Studios. This record has over 100,000 streams on Spotify in it's first year!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: We just wrapped up an African Folk Music project for Bothsam's Publishing this week, in which a gentlemen came from Ghana to record two folk songs and a narrative. These recordings will be published throughout the kingdoms of Ghana to demonstrate proper linguistics in their language.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your vision for this track? What artists are you listening to right now?
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital! Hey, it's in our name...(Digital Recording Mixing Experts = DRMX) It makes for smoother recording sessions and more control overall throughout the process.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Without a doubt meeting new people!!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Do you do work with hip hop artists? Absolutely! The studio was designed for recording multiple instruments at one time. However, our live room and iso room both are great for vocals!! We have a long track record of recording and mixing great hip hop records.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as prepared as you possibly can be when you go into the studio to record, but be willing to get creative while recording! Being well rehearsed leads to having much more confidence and alleviates nervousness during a recording session which leads to way better takes!! But you don't want to be a robot! We want you to feel as comfortable as possible with experimenting, that's usually when "the magic" happens
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Sometimes you have to break the rules. There is no right or wrong way to express yourself in music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Organization
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Experience and a Musician's ear! Jeff (owner, producer, lead engineer) has his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music (Percussion). He has been a touring musician since he was 15 years old, and has been recording and mixing bands and other artists professionally since 2007. Clients of DRMX Studios love knowing that their creations are in the hands of someone who knows music and can communicate their musical language during the production process.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First and foremost, we start a dialogue with the artist to see what their vision is and what sound they are looking for. After all, that's the most important thing! Much of the recording process will vary depending on the instrumentation and the needs of the band or artist. We have years of experience in recording techniques to achieve different sonic captures. Mixes will be available for you to stream, listen to (in their entirety), and also make notes and revision requests throughout the mixing process. Once you approve the mix/master, you pay the balance for that song only, and you can immediately download your track is all audio formats (24Bit WAV, 16Bit WAV, and MP3). 5 Mix Revisions are included.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Our studio was designed and built from the ground up to be a recording studio. We have 750sq feet of recording space, including a great live room for drums, an isolation room for vocals and amps, and a spacious/comfortable control room.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: We specialize in Digital Recording (Tracking) and Mixing. The studio offers great spaces for tracking drums/bass/guitars/amps/piano/keys and vocals.
