Calvin Pia is an Emmy-nominated sound designer, mixer, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Brooklyn, NY. Formerly the lead mixer at One Thousand Birds studio in New York City, he now splits his time between PDX, NYC and LA. Calvin has nearly two decades of experience in audio— from live sound and touring, to music production and mixing, to post-production for film and TV, to spatialized audio for VR, to immersive sound installations and beyond.

He’s been lead sound mixer on a wide array of critically-acclaimed films such as the Emmy award-winning documentary “Zion” [Netflix], Oscar-nominated doc “Traffic Stop” [HBO], narrative short “The Privates” [Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere], and more. He’s worked on global campaigns for ADIDAS, Squarespace, Spotify, Peloton, Gillette, JBL, Pepsi, and more.

Calvin studied Music Technology at NYU’s Steinhart School. It was there that he played guitar alongside a young Stefani Germanotta (you may know her as Lady Gaga). He went on to record and tour with bands including SNOWMINE, AKUDAMA, Tropic of Pisces, MMBLR and more.

Calvin's services include music production + composition, stereo + surround mixing, sound design, guitar session work, podcast production, dialog editing, voiceover and more. He is available remotely, or on-site depending on where you are located.
