Interview with Michael Inge

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to talk to/e-mail the client I'm singing for and make sure I know what they want/need from me. I like to know what their goals are for the project if it's to pitch or to be used in tv/film etc. and what references they may have as far as how they hear the song or what they want the listen to feel. Then, I listen to the guide vocal to learn the form and melody and tune into the song and what the lyrical content is and I go and sing the leads, then any backing vocals and then any ad libs.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: a project for a music library

A: Rachel Pearl- a great friend who is a wonderful singer/artist and topliner!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital- analog is awesome but I just don't work in that in my set up. I'd love to though, maybe one day.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To care- I care about the projects I do!

A: I get to sing! I am able to share my talent and to help use it to bring other people's songs alive. If I'm also doing topline- I get to collab with others- I totally love that!

A: I usually do vocals for projects and possibly topline writing as well. I love helping to create a unique vocal performance for a song to help bring it alive for the writer(s). I love singing and writing and have credits as a writer as well. I think my experience as a songwriter myself also helps greatly me in delivering what writers/producers need in their songs.
