Brian iele (SCS Mastering) on SoundBetter

Award winning mixing and mastering engineer. Over than 500 credits and 15 years of experience. Responsive, Dedicated, Obsessed with quality.

Brian iele provides a FREE audio quality report that really helps you to get the most out of your mixes before mastering. Send us one unmastered mix and you will get a complete audio quality report in 48 hours.
We include in our mastering service a necessary first step that we call mix review.
We have found that most of the problems presented by a less than perfect mix can´t be fixed in mastering, so we invest almost as much time to review the audio quality of the mixes as to the mastering process itself. A Mix review process renders overwhelmingly superior quality mixes before even initiating the mastering stage.
Studio gear is important, but experience and good judgement, as well as full involvement in every project are also key offerings. We are committed to be 100% responsive to your needs.
- Audio Mastering for every format, in stereo and surround 5.1: Vinyl, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray, iTunes (MFiT)

Brian’s ears are wonderfully apt and the touch of his engineering is thoughtful and doesn’t over-assert itself. I had a really good time working together with him.

I had an all around pleasant experience with Brian. He was quick to return messages, answer and questions and or give any feedback. Even though i didn't have the correct content needed for the job he was still able to turn around and make something happen for me. Highly recommended! -Stylitical

When my daughter, Victoria Celestine, got her first acoustic recording by Gordon Raphael it was Brian Iele who was chosen by Gordon.
I was impressed by the clarity that Brian was able to achieve in this recording as well as in the following full CD recording. Besides the levels were impressively high compared to other masters.
Brian is very diligent and professional and we had the pleasure to meet him in Buenos Aires.

  8. Review by Tyler

Amazing! Brian brought his impeccable ear to three electronic tracks he recently mastered for me. He took my mixes to the next level, giving them a strong, open sheen that has translated to every system I've played them on. Without a doubt Brian is my new go-to mastering engineer!

My friend Brian Iele in Argentina has been a trusted music contact for me since 2009 when he brought me to Buenos Aires for the first time. Since then (8 more trips to that fine city!) He has organized production masterclasses for me, live shows, Dj sets, lectures and many recording jobs.

He is truly a well educated all around audio engineer

Interview with Brian iele (SCS Mastering)

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  2. A: Many, in different ways. What inspires me the most, is authenticity.

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: Don't overthink it.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: Coffee Boy, Assitant, Technician, Recording Engineer, Mixing Engineer, Masterin Engineer. All started long ago. Like almost 20 years ago.

  7. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  8. A: Mixing & Mastering

  9. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  10. A: Can I be present at the mastering session? Yes sure you can.

  11. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  12. A: When they are satisfied i'd try to make it even better.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: Hibryd Studio. Digital and Analog. Highly focused on quality equipment.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: Judgement when mastering. When mixing, I prefer my Job to speak for itself.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: judgement to understand what it needs.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: My monitoring system. A console. My ears. A chair. A bottle of wine.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: No "Typical" process, every song is a different word and needs possibly an unique approach.

  23. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  24. A: Rock, Indie, Pop, Jazz, Electronic, EDM,

  25. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  26. A: Authentic, real people.

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: Hi fi but with a touch of dirtiness when it's needed.

  29. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  30. A: Be sure to give the engineer all the input you can about your proyect and expectations. I think that is the best way to get the results you are seeking.

  31. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  32. A: For mastering clients we ask for mixes audition before 100% completion so we can suggest technical changes that could help the final process.

  33. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  34. A: That miracles are included with the job. :)

  35. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  36. A: The fact that it doesn't feel like working. Really.

  37. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  38. A: Anything that sounds "right" for the song. Both most of the times. Normally i take the time to compare different options

  39. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  40. A: Not yet. Maybe we should get together more often.

  41. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  42. A: Many projects every week from different parts of the world. Thrilling and inspiring

  43. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  44. A: Shoot the radio, "Opera Galaxy", was a good project and has won the Gardel Award in Argentina. I'm proud of that one. But i already did a couple of albums after that, that i like a lot too.
