When I'm not behind a mixing desk, you can find me playing guitar and synthesizer for my own bands Kai Tak and Cold Showers.
I've been playing, recording, and producing music for almost 20 years. For the past 8 years I've been in a band that is on a label, tours and has had our music featured on Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, Girls, 13 Reasons Why, How to Get Away with Murder, and many other TV shows. I have also composed commercial music for Samsung and Volkswagen.
Artists I've worked with include House of Harm, Fearing, Death Bells, Still Ruins, Second Still, The Sea at Midnight, Glaare, In Covert, Abigail Barlow, Carol Connors, and more.
I work on a hybrid setup that mixes digital flexibility and convenience with analog warmth. I produce in Pro Tools 12, Ableton 1, Logic Pro X, Maschine, and MPC Live. Universal Audio, SoundToys, FabFilter, Native Instruments, iZotope, Waves plugins, plus a selection of outboard hardware (preamps, compressors, EQs, reverbs, and tape delay).

I had a wonderful experience working on a mix with Chris and would definitely work with him again.

Chris is very prompt to respond and worked on my song very quickly. He communicates really well, and made all the adjustments I asked, and helped with some parts that I didn't have ideas for. The song sounds great and I would definitely work with him again!

Chris did a great job bringing my song to the next level. He communicated well throughout, which I appreciate, as I'm a little picky sometimes. Overall, couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Working with Chris is a wonderful experience. He’s musically intuitive and a very knowledgeable engineer. He mastered a remix I did and got it nice and loud, without any pumping or distortion artifacts. I was thoroughly impressed with his results.
After being blown away over the quality and hard-hitting sound of a friend's album, I forced her to introduce me to her producer, the creative genius that is Chris King. I praise Chris King on his professionalism, patience and knowledge on recording female vox, which has often felt like a "lost art" w/ other producers. He's easy to work with and fun to collaborate with. I officially depend on him to bring my tracks to life. I also very much appreciate his collection of cherry picked, often customized gear. Chris King works hard to create the sound/emotion you're after––highly recommend.
It's a little unusual, but he produces my podcast for me. He has vastly improved the audio quality and has made great suggestions for advertisements and business. Despite the fact that I record on a free VoIP and often do on-the-spot recordings on my smart phone, Chris is able to provide the highest quality show I've ever had. He's responsive, dedicated, and has never missed a deadline.
Chris mixed and mastered all my backing tracks which completely transformed my live set into what I needed it to be. He was super amazing to work with - figuring out the tone that I was going for to fit my sonic aesthetic without having the masculine ego that makes me not want to work with producers/engineers. While being impressively technically savvy, Chris is truly in it for the love of helping musicians accomplish their vision which is really hard to find.
I worked with Chris on mixing my first record for Walk Onto Sun and it was the best experience in a studio that I have had. He was friendly, professional, on-time, and really put his own creativity into the production while also accepting feedback from the artist. It felt like a true collaboration and he made you feel at home with good conversation and advice in the music world. He was able to trouble shoot any issues with the recordings and gave prompt mix examples for feedback. I was thrilled with the results and experience.
I loved working with Chris. He was able to salvage an EP that wasn't sounding right after working with another engineer. I ended up working with him again on the following EP which came out even better. Always a great experience. Looking forward to working with him again!
Chris was the perfect producer & engineer for my project. His extensive knowledge of both digital and analogue synth, along with live recording, allowed us to find innovative solutions to realize everything that was in my head. Additionally he contributed a lot of ideas which wouldn't have occurred to me.
He showed real dedication to making sure the project came out in its best form and went above and beyond, giving me advice and resources for navigating my own music career. Chris is definitely the best recording collaborator I've had.

He was always willing to go the extra mile for the exact right sound and style. Plus, he's a stellar tone guy and makes awesome sounds in a very creative way. I can't say enough great things about him, really. If you're considering anyone, put him at the top of the list. you won't regret it! Thanks for being awesome Chris!
Working with Chris is fantastic. He goes above and beyond to bring the track to life, wielding years of experience that come through in the final mix. Beyond his technical know how, he is a blast to work with and encourages further experimentation and creativity. I was so impressed with his mix, I went back to him to score a short film and was throughly impressed with the results with little direction needed. I can whole heartedly recommend him as a Producer, mixing engineer, and film composer.
