Interview with Gian Galiano
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you are looking for a great sounding product, someone easy to work with and a quick turnover for the product then I am your player!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: For rhythm playing I think about how to change things up while still staying in the pocket. For lead I think very melodically and vocally. I think about what would a singer do there? And I interpret it on my instrument.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never be biased towards a certain type of music. Music is music!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Singer Songwriter, Pop, Jazz, Fusion.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening and placing the guitar where it should be and keeping it away from where it shouldn't be.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listen to the tracks, sketch out some ideas, do a rough take and then tweak it until the parts fit the piece.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I run a Focusrite interface into my DAW and use KRK 8" monitors. Various microphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Allen Hinds, Chuck D'Aloia, Oz Noy, Robben Ford..etc..
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Rhythm and lead guitar parts. I am a very lyrical guitarist when it comes to lead playing.
