Travis delivered exactly what I hoped he would: sweet, tasteful pedal steel that entirely served the song. I believe he handled my project with the same kind of care that he does his own. And his records are amazing. Travis was also a joy to work with - thoughtful, communicative, and gracious. Great player, nice guy, can't recommend him highly enough!

Had Travis do a few tracks and immediately came back to have him add to the remainder of my songs. A great ear and great accompaniment. Thanks again!

A joy to work with Travis.
Easy, good communication and professional.

Travis is a fantastic musician and played the exact parts I envisioned in my mind without me putting them into clear notes. He worked with already crowded arrangements and fit in parts that were both essential and subtle. Couldn't be happier, and look forward to working with him again!
Interview with Travis Linville
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: When it comes to producers, you have to find the person who has a good sense about who you are as an artist. A sense about where you are now and where you could be in the future and the knowledge to lead you through the steps of making a record.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been performing live for 25 years. Thousands of shows in forty eight states and seven countries. I started making records in the late ninties and have had my own studio (of varying sizes) since then. I've played on, produced or engineered dozens of records through the years. Including all of my own:)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: It's definitely called Dreamy Roots Folk Singer-Songwriter
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on creating tracks for singer songwriters that lean rootsy. I most love working with singer songwriters who want to build simple, interesting and beautiful tracks that compliment their song but keep the feel and aesthetic of a stripped down performance. Dreamy Roots
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is definitely that I play so many instruments.. but I think more that my approach is about simplicity and serving the song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring dreamy vibes!!! Big Gretsch electric guitar pads. Textural dobro. pedal steel that leans more dreamy and less traditional. I like pads and textures that serve the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a few nice condensor mics and a whole bunch of beautiful instruments. My skill set leans toward the tasteful playing and recording of real stringed instruments. So pretty simple! I have a great sample library for keys as well as drums and percussion.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I've done over the years is producing albums for singer songwriters. The most common overdubbing work I do is for Pedal Steel and Dobro. Love simple dreamy slide sounds!!
