Interview with Taras Terletskyy
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Usually, I do songs or soundtracks from the beginning to the end: lyrics&music, arrangement, recording, mix&master of the final product.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Hanz Zimmer, John Williams, David Guetta, Armin Van Buren, Mozart
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have the most qualified soundcard I found on market - Apollo Twin Mark II with a lot of UAD plugins on it, aos I have very good active studio monitors from m-audio, Powerfull PC on Wi 10, my DAW is Cubase 10 Pro and I master in Wavelab 9.5. Also, I use Softtube DS1-MK3 and their mastering bundle. I play guitar, so I have two electric guitars (PRS and Ibanez) and acoustic Yamaha APX500III. My mics: AKG C414Ltd., Shure KSM 32, Sennheiser ME26K6, SuperLux Stereo Paired Mics CM-H8K, and dynamic Sennheiser E835S
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I discuss with the client all what he/she wants, I prefer to use Skype for it to have "live" talk. Also, I ask to send me three references to be sure that you know what you want. Then I start to work - and as far the DEMO is ready I send it to the client to be sure that I work in the right way. If everything is ok I proceed and send premixed version, after approval - mix and master.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Usually, I 'm concentrated on being in a team with my client and bring there what the client wants but of course with some kind of flavor of mine)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: movie/video games soundtracks and EDM ... But as a professional musician, I've worked with rock, jazz, etc. Cause I love doing music - and no matter about a style

A: I've gathered my first band in 2002 and built my first studio in 2006...

A: Do you know what do you really want?
Q: What do you like most about your job?
