I specialize in creative top lining and vocal production (think lots of vocal pitching, tuning, chopping & just playing with vocal recordings). I love creating ear candy!
I'm a vocalist, music producer, and musical artist. I currently produce my own alternative pop music as Ruby Swan and I've top lined tracks for producers Camber, Command_Prompt, Dark Demeanour, and Johnny Molfetta. I've also recorded lead vocals for Jason McKay (JMK Audio Productions) and provided backing vocals for Tall Ships and Jackson Reed (Heavy Heart Sound Studios).
My work is heavily inspired by hyperpop music (i.e. music producers like A.G. Cook, Danny L Harle, Dylan Brady and Laura Les, and artists such as Caroline Polachek, Charli XCX, Dorian Electra, and Hannah Diamond). I love creating pitched, distorted, and chopped vocals. Whether you have vocals that need creative processing or want your song experimentally top lined, I'm all about creating alternative and unique vocals.

Interview with Ruby Swan
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A full-length album and refining my live show.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for its accessibility.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Cartoony, edgy, pretty, and sparkly.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Charli XCX, A.G. Cook, Jim-E Stack, Francis and the Lights, The Japanese House, The 1975, Toro y Moi, Danny L Harle, Caroline Polachek, Hannah Diamond, Dorian Electra.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My favourite project I've worked on was a collaboration with Command_Prompt. I top lined a track of his and we collaboratively made a music video as well. I enjoy video editing and I got to experiment a lot with different apps and editing techniques while making our video. I also made quite a few promotional materials for the project, including drawing cartoons for our album cover and I really enjoyed being so involved with each creative aspect of this project.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with A. G. Cook because I think his approach to music production is so fresh and he's willing to push his tracks to their limits.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hyperpop, alternative pop, and electro pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Basically anything involving vocals. I especially like creating harmonies and vocal chops!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Openness and curiosity.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm most often contracted to top line music productions. This usually includes creating a melody, writing lyrics, and processing my vocals.
