Interview with Damjan Blazun

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've started working in music profesionally about 10 years ago. It started all with recording at home with my punk bands at the time. A year later I was awarded with an Audio Engineering Scholarship at SAE Institute Ljubljana where it all kicked off. I've started working in recording studios, as well a FOH for multiple bands, was a radio DJ, broadcast mixer and presenter. In 2018, I've moved to Berlin to pursue my career in music where I was mentored by Ainsley Addams and Zino Mikorey. In 2023 I've started working for Omah Lay as his Engineer and Vocal Producer.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Editing ≠ Quantization.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My main goal always is to enhance the emotion of the record.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First always communicate, then listen, analyse intention of the record and help the record go to the next level.
