Elliott McClain is an exciting and remarkably fluent young pianist.

Praised as having “exceptional talent”, young American pianist Elliott McClain is known for his improvisational skills and expressive playing style. As a recent college graduate, Elliott has already performed as a soloist in distinguished venues and performance centers including a Millennium Stage performance at the Kennedy Center. As member of the pop trio Lake Rise Place, Elliott has also performed at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Ryman Auditorium, Tennessee Performing Arts Center, and Ford Theatre at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Blind since birth, Elliott began playing the piano at the age of 4. His earliest influences came from his Uncle’s record collection, live radio, and live performance recordings of the late 90’s. These influences can be heard in Elliott’s playing in both session and performance work today.

    Elliott is an absolutely brilliant composer - he made sure I was pleased with each step of his creative process and it was a joy to hear it come together. I sincerely appreciate his incredible talent, patience and professionalism. Working with him was an incredible experience and I could not be happier with the piano piece he made for me.   1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: Live music performance, teaching, and building a portfolio of work.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: That it is easy or is a natural gift. Excellence in musicianship requires years of study, practice, and experience.

  6. A: What do you want?

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I've played piano since I was old enough to reach up to the keys on my family piano. For the first few years, music was play, but by age seven I was studying classical and commercial piano. In high school I performed with a pop trio in Nashville. In 2017, I was a winner in the 2017 VSA International Young Soloists Competition, a Jean Kennedy Smith Arts and Disability Program, recognizing outstanding young musicians with disabilities. I completed a Master of Music degree from Belmont University in 2018.

  10. A: Melodic, harmonically interesting, improvisational, and and creative.

  12. A: I admire the work of Steven Wilson and would love to contribute to one of his productions.

  14. A: Jazz, country/americana, and popular music.

  18. A: I am inspired by any music that is live and improvisational.
