Interview with Troy Kurek

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Covers of my favorite 90's grunge bands.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Gosteffects
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I prefer analog equipment for recording, but everything ends up being digitalized in the end. Not many people are going straight from analog recording to a cassette or record.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I create a project in Logic Pro and load in everything I need to work on. If I need to record, I do so via my Volt 276 directly in Logic. I utilize tracks and busses depending on the scale and scope of the project to mix and master.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use a Volt 276 to capture either direct audio or mic setups, which feeds into Logic Pro X. The room I record in has some sound treatment to reduce background noise. I use a combination of Audio Technica studio monitor headphones and Kali studio 8" speakers with a 12" sub to mix and master.
