Hi, I'm Benny! I am a producer from Maryland and have been working in music for 7 years now. I have produced for a number of hip hop artists and run my own studio in Brooklyn. I have experience producing and engineering in a variety of different genres, but no matter the genre I seek to make sure you are proud and excited with the music we make!
I have 5+ years of experience producing and mixing for both up and coming independent artists as well as major label signees. I graduated from the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU where I received an education in audio engineering and recorded music. From working at labels like Cinematic Music Group and Alamo Records I have learned how to take up and coming artists and cultivate their sound to compete within a major label arena. I approach every track with passion and care and seek to give you the best quality music possible. I specialize in Hip Hop, Trap, and Electronic music and would love to work with you!

Interview with DamnBenny!
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Working with Xanman has been one of the most gratifying experiences I have had so far in the music industry. Although he is still up and coming, working with an artist from my home state of Maryland was something that I was able to get extremely excited about as a fan of Maryland music!

A: I am currently recording/producing an EP for a pop act out of NYC as well as working with several up and coming hip hop and electronic acts
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes!!! Caleb Matheson is an amazing mixing engineer and VONdom labs is a fire produce/mixer!!!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital... analogs nice and all but I can do way more in digital. Let's live in the future, not the past
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to work my ass off to make sure that you are not only happy with your track but that it is something you will be proud of

A: Can you make me a ____ type beat? I can! but I will do it with special sauce so that your tracks sound unique from anyone else!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception about beatmakers is that people don't think we want to be involved in every step of the process! I love to make songs and that includes all aspects of music creation!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are you trying to say in the track? How does the song make you feel? How do you want it to make others feel?

Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Aggressive+Melodic
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Lil Uzi Vert. I would love to produce a beautifully melodic but terrifyingly aggressive song for him

A: Don't add any plugins to your 808s!! Just EQ and level them
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip Hop, Rap, Trap or electronic music
Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: I bring a creative mind focused on ensuring your track sounds and feels the way you want it to. I will do my best to ensure your music sounds right, so that it can feel right.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Go to the studio, listen through to what somebody wants me to work on to see how it makes me feel. Once I understand the emotional content of a song I am able to use that as a direction for the music.

A: I own and manage a studio space in Brooklyn, NY. We have a large range of equipment and it gives me an environment where I can zone in and focus on music!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Producing or beatmaking! I love to write the instrumental but if I get the chance to fill an executive producer role I will.
