Interview with Sound Concept
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of the most exciting milestones for Sound Concept has been breaking into the video game industry. Contributing original music and sound design to a game that reaches a large and passionate audience has been incredibly rewarding. Knowing that our work enhances the gaming experience for so many people worldwide – and creates emotional moments through sound...is something we’re truly proud of.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Sound Concept is currently working on new bounce techno tracks for several clients, focusing on energetic, club-ready productions with a fresh edge. In parallel, we’re also creating custom sound design and original music for an upcoming video game.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both – the hybrid approach is key. Analog offers warmth, depth, and a tactile workflow that inspires creativity. Digital provides precision, flexibility, and endless possibilities. Sound Concept blends the best of both worlds to get the right sound for each project.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Sound Concept promises industry-level quality, clear communication, and full creative commitment – no shortcuts, no generic templates. Every track is treated as if it were our own release.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creative freedom, hands down. Every project is different, and that’s the beauty of it. Sound Concept thrives on transforming abstract ideas into polished, emotional, and impactful tracks – seeing an artist's vision come to life is what makes this work so rewarding.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q: Can you make my track sound more professional? A: Absolutely – that's the core of what Sound Concept delivers. Whether it's through mix clarity, arrangement adjustments, or adding the final polish in mastering, we bring industry-level quality while keeping the unique character of your sound intact.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That good production is just about having “the right gear.” In reality, it’s the ear, experience, and intention behind every choice that makes a track come alive. Tools matter, but the real power lies in knowing how to use them.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: - What’s your vision or reference for this track? - Is there a deadline or release plan in place? - What do you want the song to feel like, not just sound like? - Are there specific artists, moods, or genres you want to channel? - How do you prefer to collaborate – hands-on or hands-off?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for someone who not only delivers quality sound but also listens to your vision. A great provider asks the right questions, understands your goals, and brings creative value to the project – not just technical skills. Chemistry and communication are just as important as plugins and presets.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1. A MacBook Pro with Ableton Live 2. Universal Audio Apollo Twin 3. ADAM Audio A77X monitors 4. Komplete Kontrol A49 MIDI keyboard 5. A solar charger (because making music without power is a bit tricky 🏝️) With just these essentials, Sound Concept could still produce professional, creative tracks – even in total isolation. Great sound knows no boundaries.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Sound Concept was founded after years of hands-on experience in music production, sound design, and audio engineering. With over a decade of professional work – from underground club tracks to commercial remixes and custom soundscapes – the studio has grown into a trusted name for artists seeking premium sound and creative collaboration.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Sound Concept's style is defined by clean, modern sound design, deep emotions, and melodic elements that stick. It’s a blend of electronic precision and organic energy. Always aiming for a unique sonic fingerprint for the artist’s vision.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: One dream collaboration would be with Fred again. For his emotional storytelling and raw approach to production. His work blends simplicity and depth in a way that resonates deeply, and working with such an artist would be creatively inspiring.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don’t overcrowd your mix – clarity is king. A great-sounding track often comes down to space and balance. Choose your elements wisely, make each one count, and never underestimate the power of subtractive EQ.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most projects fall within the spectrum of electronic music...including House, EDM, Techno, Pop, and game-music. Sound Concept is also experienced in genre-fusion and cinematic elements, making the productions suitable for both the club and commercial sync licensing.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Sound Concept’s strongest skill lies in combining technical precision with creative instinct, crafting tracks that not only sound polished but also emotionally connect. From intricate sound design to final mastering, each step is executed with focus, taste, and attention to detail.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Sound Concept brings clarity, emotion, and character to every track. Whether it's a ghost production, remix, or mixdown, the focus is always on highlighting the artist’s identity while enhancing the track with professional polish and musical depth. The result is a sound that stands out – clean, powerful, and emotionally resonant.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Each project starts with understanding the client's vision and creative goals. From there, Sound Concept begins crafting the arrangement, sound design, and overall vibe. Frequent check-ins with the client ensure alignment at every stage. Once the track is built out, we move into detailed mixing and mastering, always aiming for a polished, impactful sound that feels both current and timeless.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: The studio is designed for professional-grade production and mixing. It includes a calibrated monitoring system, high-end audio interface, analog synths, outboard gear, and industry-standard plugins from FabFilter, UAD, Waves, and more. The setup is optimized for both creative flow and precise technical control, ensuring high-quality results across every project.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Sound Concept draws inspiration from a wide spectrum of producers and artists who push boundaries in both sound and storytelling. Influences range from industry pioneers like Daft Punk, Deadmau5, and Eric Prydz to innovative modern producers like Maddix, Hans Zimmer, and Fred again.. for their bold sonic identities and emotional depth.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: At Sound Concept, the most common projects involve high-end music production, ghost production, and remixing across genres like EDM, House, Techno, and Pop etc. We also frequently handle mixing and mastering to deliver tracks that are ready for commercial release on platforms like Spotify, radio, and club systems.
