I create instrumental music and arrangements in a variety of different genres.
Steve Wheeler is a composer, performer, and producer. His writing, playing, and mixing covers a gamut of styles including rock, jazz, hip-hop, concert band, metal, techno, musical theatre and more.
In 2009 and 2010, he was awarded the ASCAP Foundation Henry Mancini Music Fellowship. This allowed him the opportunity to study at the University of Miami in their Master of Music program for Media Writing and Production. It was here that he worked on projects such as being a score reader for “Jazz Roots: An Evening with Dave Grusin,” and an orchestrator for “Lanza!,” a musical produced by the Frost School of Music and Phil Ramone. In May of 2011, Steve was awarded his Master of Music degree in Media Writing and Production.
Currently, Steve is a member of Unified Sounds, creating music for media. His work can regularly be heard on national broadcast television for CBS Sports. This includes The PGA tour, NCAA March Madness, NFL Football, and SEC College Football. Steve has also been involved with projects for Sony including the smash hit Virtual Reality game Farpoint.
