Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: My own album! I've been compiling a bunch of songs growing up that I am finally working on to put into an album.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: Curtis Halle - the best mixing/ mastering engineer I know :)

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: That you will LOVE your song!

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Be yourself! I'm only as good as what you share with me :)

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I've been singing since I was 9 and writing music since I was 12. I wrote a lot of music whilst I was in high school and college - I actually ended up studying psychology in college because I wanted to really understand people (and understand myself). I found that people in the music industry (especially artists) are all quite similar - we share something unique that enables us to do our craft, so I wanted the skills to be able to understand people in the industry. I am now pursuing my own individual career as an artist full-time, as well as being a full-time songwriter for other artists.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Writing catchy melodies that stick in people's heads :) My biggest compliment is when someone says "I can't get your song out of my head... and I've only listened to it once!"

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: When writing a song, I like getting to know the artist. I will typically set up a zoom call (unless we are in the same country), and I will ask questions about what vibe they are going for with the song, as well as the direction in terms of melody and lyrics. I think getting to know the person you are working with is extremely important, so I ensure that I get to know all of the artist's nuances before getting to work - this also helps with getting the song right on the first try!

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I have a mini-home studio set up with everything I need to record demo vocals and the songs I've written. If you need vocals professionally recorded, I will go to a studio to record them to ensure they are perfect :)

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I absolutely love Taylor Swift and Avril Lavigne - I grew up listening to them, and I can definitely see that they've inspired my songs. I also love Olivia Rodrigo (which is ironic because her two biggest inspirations are also Taylor and Avril!)

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I usually help artists write a song from scratch (starting off with an idea/ vision in their head), write lyrics for a melody they already have, or write a topline for an instrumental they have. I also record vocals for tracks, including demo vocals and professional vocals for the final mix.
