Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Jungle. They are an incredible indie band that sounds amazing on and off the stage. They have a particular sound down that I would love to get my hands on and work with.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Do not over do it on your production. If it is one thing I have learned over the years it's simplicity. Simplicity is the key to having an amazing track no matter what genre. Over complicating your tracks or adding too many ingredients is going to make it harder for the listener to digest your track.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: On a day to day basis I work on Pop, Hip/Hop, and R&B.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly mix and produce full entire songs for my clients. There are a few times were I master tracks but my passion is in mixing and producing.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Doug Fenske and Marcus Hall
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I prefer Analog but as an engineer/producer working with artist I dabble between the two, hearing what sounds best for the track. I mostly use digital because it is convenient to have all these replicated gear on my computer and I do not need to work at a studio.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The stories each and every person brings to the studio.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I am a DJ.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been in the music industry for 6 years. I started mixing and making music after high school. I started playing the piano when I was 7 and I have picked up other instruments along the way like trombone, drums and saxophone.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is very clean and simple. I own an Apollo x16 where it has my go to mixing plugins on it. I have a pair of Focal Alpha 65 speakers, a midi keyboard and Prohpet Rev2 synthesizer.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Frank Dukes, Louis Bell, and Ta-Ku.
