Professional, massive sounding metal tracks at affordable rates. With many years of experience working with metal music, I will bring your vision to life! 🤘
My name is Mattias Ohlsson, I am a musician and a producer. I specialize in metal music, which I have a big passion for.
The main focus of my work is mixing and mastering. I am happy to do both for you. I use the highest quality plugins to bring your music to life. My mixes and masters are aggresive, massive and clear.
I am also available for programming realistic and explosive drums, using the highest quality samples. I was a drummer in a metal band for four years so when it comes to drums, I know my stuff!
And lastly, I can also program realistic bass, giving your tracks a very consistent and aggresive sound.
Ultimately your vision is what is most important. That's why I will always offer revisions until you are 100% satisfied with the finished product!
If you'll let me, I will make your music become the best version of itself.

Interview with MO Metal Productions
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing and mastering. I am also available for programming realistic drums with some of the best sounding samples out there.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Adam Nolly Getgood is my favourite producer and I often strive to reach his sound.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mix and master in the box in Cubase with premium plug-ins from Slate Digital amongst others.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock and metal. I am specialized in symphonic and progressive metal but I can work on a wide variety of music genres!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: First make sure you get good recordings. I can do a lot, but ultimately I am always limited by how good the recording is. Also, if you are recording guitar and bass, it's always nice to get the DI track alongside any amp tracks. That way i can re-amp the instruments if i need to, and also give you more options sound-wise.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that I can help your music shine and pack a big punch!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital is definitely better if you consider cost and accessibility. However there are certain qualities of analog gear that you don't get with typical digital plug-ins. I use a lot of plug-ins that emulate analog gear such as tape machines, mix consoles and different compressors. It really breathes a lot of life into the mix!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q: How should I send the stems for my song? A: Time aligned from the start with no clipping on any of the tracks.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm new here on SoundBetter so not yet!
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: 'Octavarium' Origin is the latest project I worked on.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start by looking over all the stems, followed by broad strokes and gradually becoming more and more detailed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A lot of punchiness without sacrificing clarity.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Handling a lot of different tracks while maintaing clarity is something I've picked up from working with progressive metal!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Record well. How good a song is sounding is ultimately limited by the recording quality.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work you! These days every band can get a great sound for a low cost and I am always intrigued by new music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: A big sound with at lot of punch and clarity.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been into music all my life and have been producing music for around 3 years.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Actually only my computer, since that contains all the gear you would ever need!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What their vision is with the song/record. Any reference tracks is always helpful.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That's a hard question to answer. I think most people in music have a good conception of what to expect from me as a producer.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That it is very diverse!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently working on recording and producing my next solo album with my project 'Octavarium'.
