Brandon K Smith (b. 1994) is an Atlanta based composer, arranger, and songwriter currently studying Music Composition at the Georgia State University School of Music. He has had several pieces performed at Georgia State, including instrumental pieces and a set of art songs, one of which was selected for the 2019 Midwest Music Symposium. Smith has also collaborated with several students for their recitals, including writing pieces for acclaimed soprano Maria Margiolakou and acclaimed guitarist Ayodeji Oduwole. In 2019 His wind ensemble piece “Oceans” received 2nd place at Georgia State’s 5th annual wind ensemble composition contest. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Georgia State Chapter of the Society of Composers.
Brandon is also an avid conductor, performer, and teacher in the Atlanta area. Conducting credits include his personal chamber choir, the University of Pittsburgh Men’s Glee Club, and Chamblee Charter High School Black Box Theater. Performance credits include concerts with the Georgia State University Singers, the Georgia State Master Singers, the University of Pittsburgh Men’s Glee Club, and the GMEA All-State Mixed and Men’s Choir. He currently teaches voice and piano lessons at Bach to Rock Music School in Alpharetta.
