Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Shure 7b, MacBook Pro, UA Apollo interface, Pro Tools.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been a touring musician for 20 years. I’ve been working behind the glass for the last 10 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I’m either working or playing. I don’t mess around
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’ve never worked with anyone i didn’t learn from. I like the adventure of being creative with everyone
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Every idea is good until you learn that it’s bad.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Americana
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Bad jokes.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I will work until the song is far better than it was before
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: As of today, track in the studio. Take it to the home studio and edit. Make roughs in Pro Tools. Import stems in Luna and finalize mixes there.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mostly track in studios around Dallas and mix from my home studio. I have a lot of gear and a perfect room for mixing.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Creativity and learning new things inspire me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Produce, engineer, and/or mix. It all depends on the project.
