Interview with Pulgar Sebastian
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never try to follow the original arrangement 100%. since you will lose much time trying to follow what is originally written. First make the most important captures of the song, all the reasons you can and then start to give your touch.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most of the time I'm in charge of the production of orchestral instrumentals, such as big bands, chamber orchestras, full orchestras and that kind of formats. Since it is the genre that I like to write the most and I am very proud at the end of the production. proudproud Traducciones de proud AdjetivoFrecuencia orgulloso proud, prideful, lofty, proud-hearted soberbio superb, proud, arrogant glorioso glorious, proud, famed espléndido splendid, superb, magnificent, lavish, brave, proud erguido erect, straight, proud saliente outgoing, projecting, protruding, salient, retiring, prominent brioso lively, proud, zestful, high-spirited empinado steep, declivitous, sharp Definiciones de proud Adjetivo 1 feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions or those of someone with whom one is closely associated. a proud grandma of three boys Sinónimos: pleased glad happy delighted joyful overjoyed thrilled satisfied gratified content 2 having or showing a high or excessively high opinion of oneself or one's importance. a proud, arrogant man 3 slightly projecting from a surface. when the brake is engaged, the lever does not stand proud of the horizontal Ejemplos de proud Not only was I proud of my achievements, deep down I believed they made me a praiseworthy and successful human being. 29 ejemplos más Sinónimos de proud Adjetivo pleased pleasing self-respecting arrogant magnificent majestic 67 sinónimos más
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Without bragging, I consider my strength to be my musical ear and my creativity when it comes to making musical arrangements.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: In the case of the background songs, I always try to make my own arrangements, but always respecting the harmony of the song. Since it should always be noted that what I am doing is an instrumental version. In editing and tuning voices I always try to make the final product as natural as possible but always maintaining the homogeneity and tempo. In general I always try to add details that add musical richness and spark the song
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I make a beat map of the track that the client wants. Then I start placing markers at specific points of interest that are presented in the song. After this, I proceed to create the instrument sections that the song itself has. It can be a big band, an orchestra, a rock song, metal, hip hop, whatever the client wants. I am ready for any gender that comes my way. For this reason, before starting to produce, I research about the genre to soak in it and enrich my creteria to do the best job and adapt to the genre. After writing all the instruments I proceeded to do a bounce of each one and started the mix session; where I make a Gain Structure (pre-mix) and then I start to process. Usually, since I usually work with orchestral music, I only tend to use EQ, compression (little), reverb (by sending) and delays. After all this, I export the mix stems and these are sent to the client along with a final mix track.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Honestly, all the work I do is from my laptop, using nothing but Protools, my virtual instruments, a presonus interface, a condenser microphone and my electric bass. But as I have been advancing in the music industry, I have seriously raised goals and constantly with the passing of the months improve my work equipment.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Since I started working in the world of orchestration, I have always admired Hans Zimmer for his particular and epic sound when making soundtracks. But nevertheless, in each work I try to find my own sound, fulfilling the expectations of the client and always looking for a quality sound and giving the best of me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My daily job is to make background vocals for karaoke companies. Saying this, is my job to recreate, orchestrate, edit, mix and send the mix stems to the client. My main instrument is the bass so record the bass lines myself and I have a team which takes care of recording instruments that can't be respectfully sampled such as guitars, mandolins, etc.
