Michael was very professional and knew what he was doing. Made the prefect topline/lyrics for my track. Also he was super quick and had the first draft the next day. It was tuned perfectly I barely had to change any pitch. Would definitely recommend to any artist/producer looking for a vocal for chill, pop, or even electronic tracks.

Michael is awesome to work with! This was the first time I've used this website and he really helped me out a lot on my project. I sent him a song to demo and he sent me vocals next day! They were perfectly performed and tuned. Highly recommended if you're looking for an Ed Sheeran or Justin Bieber type vocal.

Interview with Levi Blue

  1. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  2. A: People always ask me what famous singers I compare my voice to. I usually say Justin Bieber, Troye Sivan, and Lauv.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: A lot of people don't understand that being a creative is like being an athlete. You have to rest your mind, and feed yourself knowledge from books, television, and other songs. Most people don't realize the amount of work that goes into maintaining a healthy state of mind.

  5. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  6. A: I always ask what their expected turn around time is.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Have an idea of what you're looking for. Themes, vocal style, the density of the vocal. It's just nice to know what I'm getting into before I start a project.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Apogee mic, Laptop, Violin, Acoustic guitar, Studio Monitors

  11. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  12. A: I am really proud of my unreleased debut album. It's entirely self produced, written, and recorded.

  13. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  14. A: I'm currently in writing mode just trying to write as many songs as possible. I like to write a lot of songs so I have a stockpile to sift through and edit as I feel more inspired.

  15. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  16. A: I am fairly new to the community so I don't know many people yet, but everyone I've worked with has been very professional.

  17. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  18. A: I work on the go a lot so digital is always more convenient when working on a laptop, but when it's time to mix and master a song I always head to a big studio with analog gear.

  19. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  20. A: I promise to always deliver a product that reaches your standards. If you want changes, I am always open to reworking things.

  21. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  22. A: I love that I've made so many friends all around the world. It makes me happy to know that someday when I visit those countries I'll have friends waiting for me.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Music has always been what I wanted to do, it just took a while for me to find ways to make it a reality. I've been writing songs for about 2 years, but I've been a musician for 20 years, and I have a lot of classical training on several instruments.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My songs are packed full of emotion.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I would love to work with Illenium. He's created such a unique sound, and a whole world in which that sound exists. I don't think any artist in EDM has fans as passionate as him.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Don't spend so much time thinking about the direction you should take a song. You'll come up with much better material by actively playing melodies and chopping up samples. Let your ears be the judge. You should save the hard thinking for when the song is fully sketched out.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I typically write lyrics and melody for electronic style productions, but my personal favorite music to make is urban pop. This is the style of much of my original music.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: I'm great at recognizing the most memorable melodies. I cycle through dozens when writing a song and I always find a way to pick a few that flow together seamlessly.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I write personal songs that tell my own story, but I make sure everyone can understand what I went through. Painting a picture with my words is the most important thing to me.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I always like to start with the melody when I'm writing a full song. I think it allows for the best and most natural sounding product.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: All of my live recordings run through an apollo twin. The two microphones I use the most often are the AT4050 and the SM7B.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I've been really inspired by Billie Eilish and Dominic Fike lately

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: The most common service I provide is writing lyrics, and recording final vocals for commercial release.
